Yeah but...

No matter how many times I ask, vertical blind control is not available from Lutron in the USA.

Go figure.

I've never understood how the Miele coffee machine can be controlled.

I never understood how no-one wouldn't like a moment of silence! Big Smile (At home)

It's a nice little video, but showing how stuff works on a CAD video is something I don't put much attention to. How great wouldn't a real video of a home have been?

Too long to list....

Seems to be a "remake" of an older Beolink movie.

Most interesting part for me is at about 01:11 where we can see 2 way control of a BS5 via iphone Beolink app:

This doesn`t work (not yet...) - only on ipad. So I`m assuming an update of iphone Beolink app is on the way....?:)

User interface is a bit different on my iphone, so it seems to be a newer version....(?)

Go figure.

You just need an actor that can control up/down and left/right movements via RS232 or ethernet.
A KNX system can do that.

Yes it is MLGW.

Google Miele@Home. Miele has communiction modules for their products like washing machines, coffee machines...

As far as I know it also works with KNX.

Yes agree... That`s why we have an often used "Good night" button on Beolink app, that turns off audio or/and video in the whole house, switches all lights off and closes the blinds with one touch. A few seconds later it is just ... silent.

Stefan, thanks for your post. Miele@home seems to be only available in Germany at the moment (I'm in the UK). I quite like the idea of a coffee being made when you walk downstairs in a morning!

can this also control the wife ?

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

Never understood either where I could buy one of these thermostats at 41 seconds into the video.

I have also made a "Good Night" button, used every night to turn off all B&O stuff and all the lights in the house, closes the blindes and turns on the alarm. This button alone makes up for the cost of the MLGW.

Interesting, I googled this. Learn something new every day. Makes me wonder if the Goblin was the inspiration for the convoluted, Rube Goldberg malfunctioning contraptions in Sam's apartment in the movie Brazil?

My coffee pot, in the kitchen, has a timer. I used to use it every day when working but now that I'm retired I just make it when I get up in the morning rather than pre stage it.

A lot of cool stuff demo'd in the video, all fun to have, none necessities. If you've got the cash though why not pamper yourself with every toy imagine able. Personally I'd like the remote controlled blinds and light programs the most. I can get most of the lighting with z wave modules now but the mechanized shades and blinds are a lot more money.

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad
