Hi all,

I've used my Beo6 for a while, but some weeks ago, using it with a custom Squeezebox XML (which I was already using, but not intensively) has totally blocked the remote.

Now it is impossible to do anything : pushing the central button lights the infrared at the rear, but it''s impossible to restart the Beo6 by pushing the button for 30s.

When connected to my PC with CT Tool 6.00, the remote is not seen by the PC.

Any advice or a secret HARD hard reset button combination???

Try to recharge for a couple of hours first ( full charge) then try to upload your config file, incl wifi firmware

My idea was first to try to discharge it fully... But without screen, the battery seems to last for a long time...

Have you tried pushing 'off' then the central button to enter into service mode?

I presume all the cables are ok? I have issues connecting the Beo5 to my Mac running windows due to USB sharing.

I hope someone can help : I tried to fully charge the remote for one day, and still nothing more than a full power (infra)red light on the back when a key is pressed (the light is on for more than one minute after each press).

I tried to open the remote and unplug the battery for one minute, and still nothing.

So as strange that it seems to be, it's possible to completely block the Beo6 just with a "normal use" and xml file...

If someone has any idea about what I can do... Maybe Keith???

Sad

I had the same problem, you have to go with it to your B&O Diller.

have to load the core program,

is a virus that destroyed all data on the beo 6,

where did you get a copy of the program? internet?

request a copy of your B&O Diller, is much safer

It can't be a virus, as the CTool is on a PC that is never connected to the internet (and never used appart for Beo6 programming), totally virus free. And the Beo6 was working for months (years maybe) without any problem, it was not connected to a PC since the last config I made. The problem is the Beo6, not a mysterious virus.

I can understand that bugs appear, but bugs that makes the device unable to work, and impossible to reset, is something that should not occur.

Now the problem is that the Beo6 is not under guarantee anymore, and the local dealer is not friendly...

I can ask my dealer if he wants to help you.

I'll let you know

Sorry to hear about your challenges with the Beo6 - have you tried this hard reset:

·
Perform a hardware reset by removing the battery connection to the keyboard PCB for 2 minutes
·
Reconnect the battery (a charged battery)
·
Dock the Beo6 to the standard 400mA power docking station (not the 90mA USB docking)
·
The Beo6 will then “wake-up” and must charge on the battery for 15 minutes as Beo6 believes the battery is empty after a reset

Here's what I've done :

- Disconnected the battery from the PCB (not that easy...) and waited approx. 1 min
- Reconnected the battery
- Tried to launch the remote with central button : STILL NOT WORKING!!! (only red led at the back)
- Docked the Beo6 to its base with the original charger, charged for hours (days!) and it's still not working.

I still don't understand how is it possible that such a bug comes with normal use...

If anyone has a suggestion, I would be happy to try.

Claudiu, don't hesitate to ask your dealer. Nearest is just charging 1000€ for a new Beo6 (yes, that's his price, without any configuration, which is an option to purchase...)

1000 euros for a new Beo6! This is a joke, right?

This can not be just a bug. Based on the information above you have tried all the various alternatives listed by B&O in the Fault Flow Chart, too:

Right. So bring/send it to a dealer and have it repaired under warranty.

(It was introduced almost three years ago....)

BeoVision 11-55, BeoLab 8000, BeoRemote One BT, AppleTV 4, 2x BeoPlay A2, BeoPlay A1
