Any thoughts on replacing 4000s as rears with 12-3s? Fronts are 9s.  Was thinking of 18s as rears. I saw the 18s this weekend and they were great, both visually and sonically. But I also found myself liking the 12-3s very much.

Razlaw, I  am a fan of the 12-2/3. They look great and sound great , way better than the 4000's (have 4 pairs of 4000's) If you have a sub in your av set up you can use the 12.2, unless you just like the the visual effect of the 12.3s. I have to put a set of 12.s up this week end for a friend.

Thank you.  I don't have a subwoofer as I like the 9s better without one. As  the 12s would be rears, do you really think it makes sense to get 12-3s instead of 12-2s if I like the way the bass sounds in my system currently?

Either would do,  they are long enough to look comfortable any height on a wall. Easy to have the ALT at ear level sitting down from the floor up or ceiling down.
