The tube has gone in my Avant 28 RF DVD. Does anyone know whether the tubes were identical across the entire 28" RF range (ie CTV, VCR, DVD, mkI and mkII)?

Obviously it goes without saying that the non RF tubes are different, but given there are many more used RF VCR models around than DVD models I'd like to know whether I can transplant a tube from one of those?

Cheers,

Martin.

I only remember the differences between the 32" versions. Type 8440 and 8450 had a different or extra connector at the deflection.

Thanks for the info, I'll assume the 28" might have similar changes then and try and find another of the same Type No. I could just replace the entire TV but I'm trying to avoid having to carry the old one down two flights of stairs and another one up! - much easier just to carry the tube...

Martin.
