Dear all B&O members,
first of all : first time in this forum.
My parents gave me a nice B&O system they had for a long time : BEOMASTER 1900 with BEOCORD 2000 and BeoVOX S45, so as you could think : very happy with such beauty.
I have some problem with the BeoCord 2000 but it is not the goal of this message.
I woumd like to find a CD player (B&O of course) who could be match with my BEOMASTER1900. I have looking on the web, but nothing easy !
mayby, I hope so, someone could help to contribute to continu the life of my "new" system.
many thanks
Welcome!
Well, the best aesthetic match will be a Beogram CDX (or a CDX2, or a CD3300) series player, for sure.
I use my Beomaster 1900 with a Philips CD104 (so a CDX without fancy B&O drag) and the sound is sublime! The CDX is an improved CD104 nonetheless because B&O found out a grounding loop mistake that all CD104s have and which was carefully avoided - corrected - by their techies.
Are you French like me?
Jacques
Many thanks, Jacques for these informations.
Do I need a specif cable to join the Beomaster1900 and a Beogram CDX series player?
Franck
Yes you will need a female RCA to DIN adapter. Steve at the bottom does them, but this will be a special order.
The CDX 3300 has a DIN plug already fitted.
GREAT !!!!!
so now I have to find a nice and functional CDX series player.......
many thanks, Jacques
If you are French, there!
yahoo !
speedy answer !
at your point of view : which is the best : CDX2 or CD3300 ?
They are the same inside.
Thank you so much !
You are welcome. If you go for the 3300, there will be two pins to unscrew in the DIN plug (a small screwdriver will be required). Those optional pins were for the remote control link (DATALINK) to the Beomaster 3300.
The CD 3300 will in effect stay in sleep mode until you do something. There is no on/off switch to it.
The CDX2 has no switch either if memory serves.
Thank you.
so I could summarized :
with CD3300 : it has a DIN cable, so nothing to do to plug with my beomaster 1900, except the 2 pins to remove
with CDX2 : I have to find a cable from DIN to female RCA.
after it is only a question of estheticism...to be closed to the 1900....
No the CDX2 needs a normal male cinch to DIN adaptor, and the CDX needs a female cinch to DIN adaptor. Only the 3300 will indeed be plug and play.
The CDX has a power switch, misleadingly called "PLAY", at right !
oops!
thanks !
Or use those with a normal cinch to DIN cable. I have them too.
ah OK another way.
just a question : is it your beogram cd3300 to sell?
so something like that :
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/BEOGRAM-CDX-TO-BEOSOUND-BEOMASTER-CABLE-5PIN-DIN-PLUG-2xGOLD-PHONO-RCA-SOCKETS-/261378496850?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers&hash=item3cdb5f5952
Yes exactly. No I'm not selling anything!
another little information :
is it possible to put the 1900 and CDX2 or cd3300 on wall?
OK thank you.
it was just a question in case of
No, you'll have to get a Beogram CD4500 for placement on a wall.
Perhaps not a classic but it will match the 1900 very well, even better!
Thanks jacques,
so I could add to my list of research CD4500.
no problem on cable with the beogram CD4500 ?
It will be plug and play, but you will get very little functionality, because it was designed to be used through the Beomaster 4500.
Thank you again for all your kind help.
by very little functionality you mean ?
There is no display!
oops !
bad news ! because for me the CD4500 is very closed in design with the Beomaster 1900!
so in fact it is better trying to find CD3300 or CDX or CD2, in fact !
with no display, you mean no track numbers? no "PLAY" display ?
