Good luck to the Danes in resisting the effective take-over of their oil and gas company Dong by Goldman Sachs.
Just about every central bank is under the management of an ex Goldman Sachs individual. No wonder GS is nicknamed 'The Vampire Squid'! Their tentacles are reaching everywhere.

Hi Cleve,
Strangely enough we moved to Handelsbanken just before Christmas. Our branch does not exist yet but is being operated out of Chester for the time being. They charge £15 pm for a current account, but in reality that is the same as Barclays charge for their worthless extras.
I liked the idea that they had high reserves, operated on a local basis, and did not use your funds to speculate which is what the rest seem to do.
Nice to see people outside Denmark are taking notice! It's an uphill battle right now.
Btw 5.6 million people in Denmark - almost 200.000 have signed a petition against the sale, but right now it seems "resistance is futile".
And as it mostly is - the Danes awake when the game is over.
It is not just 'uphill' - the race is already run - unfortunatly!

There is a tv - and there is a BV

"The coalition, which the Socialist People’s Party quit today amid resistance to the Goldman deal, will be able to count on votes from the opposition Liberal and Conservative Parties to muster a majority in parliament, Benny Engelbrecht, a spokesman and lawmaker for the Social Democrats of Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, said in an interview. “The votes are there,” he said.
“The Dong share sale is putting more nails in the government’s coffin,” said Christoffer Green-Pedersen, a political science professor at the University of Aarhus. “They won’t survive the next election unless they find a way to highlight their successes.”
I have applied to work for Norwegian Airlines out of Copenhagen. The Scandinavian model is getting a lot of interest in my work. The best pay in the world, beautiful cities with relatively cheap housing etc.
I'd go in a flash.

sure it does!
In the next 'round' - when the Liberal/Conservative parties will be 'ruling', they are going to sell the rest!
And then the Danes will awake (too late) once again
GS did buy Vattenfall's electricity distridution network in Finland, and no one hardly noticed that. It is too bad that you can not choise your network, you just have to pay to GS, wether you like or not.
blah-blah and photographs as needed

Are you a pilot Chris?
You should try and get into Finnair then. The pilot pay is spectacular!
Too long to list....
