Does the LAN network affect album artwork resolution on the encore?

ie do i need a gigabit LAN for good functionality?

I have the airport express now and the music plays after a 1-2 sec delay but the artwork is of low resolution. and slightly improved after using a cat5e cable for the NAS

The LAN has nothing to do with the res of the cover art. It's the album arts res that's embedded to the file that determines it.
