I have a BEOCenter 2300 from early 1990's in excellent condition. I have just noticed that a green indicator light remains on all the time, in the lower display, even when the system is off and in stand-bye mode. It is located in the lower display just to to the left of the red standby indicator light. When the system is on, playing a CD or radio, the red standby light is off - as it should be. However, when you power down, the green light still remains on, even when in stand by mode, along with the red light. Does anyone have an idea as to what is wrong? I have searched the on-line manuals and have not come up with anything - and there is not any reference at all to there even being a green indicator light. (Incidentally, this model does not have a timer, which would be a reason for a green light on the BEOSound 3000 model.) Other than that the system operates perfectly.

I am concerned that "something is not powering down when in standby mode and it will not be good for the system to remain constantly powered up, if that is the case. Thanks for all your thoughts on this. Eric

'Had the same problem on mine.   When it's in standby mode press the 'Mute' button on the Beosound (not the remote).   'Fixed mine and no, no damage is done with it remaining lit.

your BeoCenter 2300 is a two way machine. There is a timer function but you can only control it with a BeoLink 5000 or 7000 remote. The only thing you can control is timer on/off by pressing "mute" button as MediaBobNY wrote. to setup the timer you need a remote mentioned before!

so the green light shows you that the timer is on. if you press "Mute" the green light turns of and the timer is set to off

I think, there is a misunderstanding about the green led. There is an option for the BC2300 and BC2500 to mute the speakers during timer operation. If You wish the speakers to turn on during timer operation. To change this behaviour, You should press the "mute" button when the system is in standby. If the green led is on, the speakers will be active during the timer operation. If the green led is off, the speakers will be off during timer operation. For example: If You want a timer recording without wake You up in the morning, than You have to disable this operation, so the green led should be off. If You want a timer wake up in the morning, You should turn the green led on with the mute button mentioned above. Note: The mute button and the green led have nothing to do with the timer operation. If the Beocenter was setted up for timer operations, it will turn on even with green led on, even with green led is off, so the white bacground light will be on. To remove the timer settings You have to use a Beolink 5000 or Beolink 7000. I hope this helps Smile
