Can I run something by you experts, someone told me that I could connect the beovox 2.2 passive speakers to the beosound 5 encore using a ML-MCL convertor using the power link cable from the BS5E. Is this correct?

Hi applemac1,
you can run any passive speaker(s), if you use the ML/MCL converter as an amp.
Just connect the PL-out of the Encore to the PL-in on the converter with a MK2 PL cable.
You will need speakers cables with a 2-pin din plug at one end and (in case of the BeoVox 2.2) bare wire at the other.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks millemissen, one last thing I am looking for the ml mcl ebay and wanted to ask will all the mc mcl work what I mean is I notice that there are different marks eg mark 1 etc
The ML/MCL Converter is built on the older MCL2P (first one is from 1985), which was used in linkrooms with the MCL2AV kit.
It is the same unit as the BeoLink Passive, which comes with the ir-eye as well (for ML-linkrooms).
You can use either of those - because you 'only' need the amp-part of it.
I would go for the youngest of them - look for the two first digits in the serial number.
Starting, if I remember right, with 01=1986, 02=87 and so on..
There are differnt SW versions - but that should make no difference, if you only use it as an amp.

Millemissen , thanks very much.
