Just wondering if someone can help. I have bc2 as slave to bv8 in main room with master link to another room with  Avant and connected speakers. I can get cd to play and auto turn on tv and speakers but DVD in bc2 will not turn on tv and speakers. Could someone tell me what options bc2 bv8 and connected Avant should be?

i hope someone has more understanding than me.

Are you running a coaxial cable as well as a Masterlink cable between the televisions?

No I have a separate aerial in the room it is in. I have a cat7 cable which terminates in a master link. I really only use the Avant with speakers (BL4000's) to listen to music from the main room. My main problem I think is trying to get the tMain room tv and speakers to turn on when a DVD is inserted. It already does with a CD. I presume it is a video option.

I may be wrong, but I don't think you can use a video command in a link system without the coaxial cable connected. Masterlink definitely doesn't carry video signal, so this could be your issue.

As an aside to this problem I wonder if anyone has a decent explanation of how all this optioning works. I have looked over several documents and none really explain it adequately.

No I am not trying to do this. I want the main room TV and speakers to turn on automatically when a DVD is inserted into the Beocentre 2. They do turn on when a CD is inserted but not a DVD and this used to happen but something has happened to stop it.

Sorry I may not have be clear in my explanation.

Did you set the 'scart sense out' to 'on' in the settings on the BC2?

I have not checked this but it used to work ok as I have described. After some work was done which I think involved turning it off all of a sudden it is malfunctioning.

If Beolabs in mainroom are connected to your BV8, set BC2 to A.OPT 0 (no ir detection) and BV8 to V.OPT 2 ( videomaster, ir detection for video- and audiocommands). Set your BV Avant as link-TV to V.OPT 6 (link TV, ir detection for video- and audiocommands). If your Avant is equipped with a DVD player, try LINK - DVD to access your BC in the main room. Whole system should be in standby mode under option settings.

Check BC2 SCART option.

Hope this helps.

Stefan
