Wouter:Are there other people that have experience with the raspberry pi running xbmc?
I do, and I love it. I mostly use it for some select online TV services (arte.tv etc - YouTube works fine, but the builtin app on my TV is faster) and as a frontend for VDR (which actually runs on the same RPi).
My TV is a Sony W6 and the CEC control was practically plug and play; all I ever had to configure was to disable some annoying features like the TV turning on every time the RPi/xbmc was restarting.
I have no idea how the CEC part will work with the BV, but I suspect it will be annoying at best, because the Beo 4 simply does not have enough function buttons to operate XBMC easily. Depends on the usage pattern, though; if all you need is to navigate through menus, it might be fine.

Hi. To my knowledge neither the BV8 or any other B&O tv has CEC. Instead B&O is relying on the PUC codes for other products with an IR eye on a cable. The IR eye is attached in front of the IR receiver in the product you wan't to control.
Unfortunatly the Raspberry PI doesn't have an IR receiver built in. But if you are going to use XBMC then there is built in support for the Microsoft MCE receiver which should be pretty easy to find on Ebay or other places like that. It is connected via USB.
B&O has a PUC code for Microsoft MCE Receiver 1039 (don't know if its supports other model numbers) but you have to get your dealer to upload the PUC code to your TV. If you already know you are going to use other equipment in other brands than B&O together with the TV you could get the PUC codes for this at the same time if available.

It's good to see that I'm not the only one! I might get an usb ir receiver and "learn" the Raspberry pi the beo 4 codes, having a usb receiver next to the tv isn't the most elegant solution, but if it works it's acceptable. The app works quite good but is a second-best solution.
I have another question concerning the R pi the answer to which I wasn't able to find anywhere.... The OS is running on an 32 GB class 10 sd card and leaves most of the space unused. Is there any way I can copy files from an usb stick to the sd card?
