Hello. I currently have my Samsung plasma connected via headphone out to the AUXinput on my Beocenter.

This gives me the advantage of only needing to use the TV:s remote 99% of the time, like changing channels or adjusting volume (the Beocenter is always on, with the volume set at about 50%)

All music listening and movie watching is done with my Apple TV, with an iphone or ipod as remote, so I really have no need for a complete stereo setup anymore. I have other B&O soundsystems in other rooms with Apple Airports connected to them, so I'm not even using beolink.

My plan now is to just replace the Beocenter with a Playmaker.

I'm thinking: Apple TV -> Samsung Plasma, headphone out -> Playmaker, line-in -> B&O speakers.

This would give me more or less the same functionality as before, with the added benefit of streaming music to the playmaker even of the TV is turned off.

My question is: Will this work as planned? Will the volume wheel on the Playmaker, also control the line-in, or is it just for streaming audio? Also, will the Playmaker play nicely with volume controlled sources, like headphone out?

Yes, the wheel on the playmaker will control the volume when using line in.

In regards to connecting it to the "headphone out" I did that with my ipad, only thing is that sound is not so great thats why I usually go via airplay.

Just make sure you dont set the TV output too high .....

Thanks. Did the sound from the headphone out become distorted due to high volume?
