Hi,
I have been thinking of replacing my centre speakers (2x Beolab 4000) with a dedicated center speaker such as Beolab 10 or Beolab 7-4.
However, I have not had the opportunity to listen to anyone of those in person so I would be interested to know if anyone has any experiences regarding these speakers (especially Beolab 10 seems hard to find any info about).
Also, do you think it would be a significant upgrade from the BL4000s?
Thanks!
Riven
My B&O products: Beosound 9000, Beosound 2300, Beosound Century, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 4000 x2, Beolab 3500, Beolab 2000, Beolab 10, Beolink Active x2, Beotime, Beo5 x2, Beo4, A9 keyring x2, LC2 dimmer x6 and growing....
I have a BeoLab 10 in a 7.1 surround system with BL8000s as the fronts and as the surrounds and with BL6000s as the rears and a BL2 as the sub. Above the BL10 I have a 65" plasma screen as well as a 100" motorized screen for cinema mode. The BeoLab 10 performs ideally as the center channel. Like you, I previously used 2 BL4000s together as the center channel. The BL4000s were HORRIBLE as a center channel! They were completely out-perormed by the BeoLab 8000s and it was difficult to hear dialog. Since the BL10 is at "end of life," you might be able to get a good deal on one. I'm hoping to stock up on some of the other color frets before they're gone, too. Of course the black that I have is classic and unobtrusive. BTW, the design of the BL10 beautifully complements the design of the BeoLab 8000s - much more so than the BL 7-4.
One more thing: the BeoLab 10 serves as a perfect ledge for a motion sensor if you have an XBox, Playstation, or Wii.
