Dead left channel on my "new" Beogram 6500

I'm new to this forum so forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong forum:-)

It's also my first "vintage" B&O - I have just bought a Beosystem 6500 and it I love it so much.

I have one problem though - when I play a LP on the Beogram 6500 I get no sound in the left speaker, but the speaker works fine - it plays perfect from all other sources.

The strange thing is when I plug in some headphones on the Beomaster 6500 there is sound in both channels.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the cause of this?

Welcome to Beoworld! Are you saying you can only hear both channels from the Beogram when listening through headphones? But for all other sources you have hear through both speakers without issue? If so, that is a stumper because you would think the circuitry path would all be the same after the input selection. I'll take a look through the schematics to see if I can make sense of it. Perhaps so,e more experienced folks can add their thoughts as well.

Most likely a combination of a bad muting relay in the Beomaster and pure coincedence that it happened when trying out the Beogram.
Turn up the volume a bit and use the muting switch on the Beomaster front a couple of times.
If this brings back the sound the diagnose is confirmed.
