During my last holidays in Ibiza (very nice location in April and May ;)), I entered in a very old and beautiful bar and heard nice music … I search for speakers and saw… 4 redlines hanging at the roof ! It is always incredible to see small speakers delivering a powerful and non distorted sound in a large room like this bar !!!!

Great story !

Like you I can now hear good speakers in strange places - where as most bars, hotels, and restaurants have very poor speakers

My experience last year was a non-B&O lovely pair of wooden speakers - lovely timbre & timber :-)

I was in Jackson Hole, Wyoming USA a few years ago, eating roasted elk at a really cool restaurant and noticed the dining room had 4 black CX100s for background music. Considering how much the meal cost it should have been 4 Pentas. Surprise

This would be a great thread to start:  'B&O sightings where you least expect it'

Yes, great topic Jacques, I wonder if this kind of discoveries will be seen in the Middle East countries which I have to visit soon.

hey Leslie, you know these speakers better than anybody else and you made me discovered their sound (after being serviced by you, I can say that I heard them as new ;)) !!!!! Indeed, I think hanging them in the ceiling is a very good idea for large space ;). I did not see those stands (even at your place ;)).

Maybe you will see some exotics stuffs during your trip ! That will be very nice to see vintage stuffs in modern buildings !

Years ago, I just remembered, in a Chinese restaurant I saw a BS9000 mounted on the wall horizontally, a pair of Pentas, and a BL2000 as their music system.

Spot the BL3000/4500 (can't remeber which):

They were still playing the last time I visited, althought with no display (possibly being used as passives).

Thought I had a better pic myself, but all I found was this exterior view from the terrace last December.

Ah I remember that place so well. Here's a photo of them. Too bad you can't see the rest of the bar...
