Hi,

As I just need an audio processor to send 5.1 audio to my speakers (doldy digital or dts) with video sent directly to the beamer/tv by the player.

I wonder if a beosystem 2 is not as efficient for this job than a beosystem 3.

The sound will be sent to the beosystem 2 with a spdif.

will the bs2 detect the audio input and power on ?

4 beolab 5,  beolab 9, beolab 10, beolab 5000, beolab 8000 mk2, beolab 6002, beolab 3500, beovision 7 55 mk2,  2 beovision 11 46 mk4, beotime, beosound ouverture, beosound essence, beoplay A8, beomaster 900 RG de luxe and the collection continues...

Buy a proper audio processor instead. Perhaps a minidsp? Bsys2 is big ugly and old. And with probably quite bad sound outputs.

BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)

I have an old Beosystem 1 that I was using in the same capacity. The picture went directly to the screen, but sound went to the BS1 so I could connect to BL 8000s and BL 4000s. It works just fine. Only problem is hiding the big box, but it's an inexpensive way to have sound processing for beolabs.
