Hello,
I am new to the forum. I recently acquired a Beomaster 3000 which was sold as unknown condition.
I plugged it in but the Beo does not give a sign of life.
Tried different buttons but no sign of life.
Is there a hidden security button for turning it on/off?
If no - what would the first things to check be?
(I do not have much experience with the inner life of electrical devices)
If there is any thread dealing with the same topic I would be grateful for the link.
Thanks!

Hi Red and welcome!
Do you have the manual? The first thing I'd do is check the fuse. Replace with same type, this is mandatory!
If the receiver works, then monitor the temperature of the heatsinks. If they get overly hot, STOP!
If the new fuse blows, you will have to fix the electronics as well.
The OFF switch could also be defective. I managed to repair one, but you have to be patient!
Mine had a bad rectifier, and this will make the fuse go.
Lift the bonnet: are the bad orange/grey capacitors all there?
Are the adjustable resistors in the amp section the old oxydised ones?
