I have a setop box which can 720 and 1080 pixels. While startup it checks the TV via HDMI which resolution is possible. The BV7-40 answers 1080. Hence the stb gives 1080p 50Hz output.
When the tv gets 1080 the ventilator / fan are turning faster and I can hear the noise.
Since every TV station sends only 720 it doesn't make sense to use 1080. ok, there are VOD which are available on 1080 but for me 720 is ok.
Unfortunately there is no way to define the output on the stb (no such settings).
how can I either
- reduce the speed of the ventilators (without being afraid damaging the TV)
- set the TV (on all or a specific HDMI socket) to 720 so that the stb will only send 720
