Hi, please can anyone tell me if they have ever had any problems with the hard drive failing on there Beosound 3200 as I have heard quite a bit of negative feedback about the hard drive.
'Have heard about that problem but never had it with mine. Not sure I would call it common. 'Also heard that early software versions had a bug that caused the very first part of a CD to get cut off during recording.
Can you quantify "quite a bit of negative feedback"?

It all depends on the lifespan of the hard drive. You might be lucky and never have issues. But If used on a regular base and it fails after a few years, which is very possible, you’re screwed! It’s not garantueed the data can be recovered. The harddrive itself cannot be swapped. It goes with a PCB-unit. Expensive! But worst of all, copying CD’s goes in real time. Imagine how much time it takes to copy 400 cd’s. There is no way to backup your data. Technology of the bs3200 is unreliable and very dated nowadays. It should have a RAID1 from the start.
Yes, sure, I'm in the market to buy a Beosound 3200 but the AV dealer who I was thinking of buying one from has told me that he keeps getting problems with the hard drives on them and he has had up to 15 of them failing on him.
