I recently took delivery of a BeoLab 2 subwoofer and I have a small dilemma with placement.
It is sitting next to the television in the middle of the wall but I have a cabinet to the other side of the subwoofer, should I set it as wall or corner on the rear panel?
Help much appreciated!
(I was going to upload a picture but it wasn't working for some reason, sorry)
I'd start out with setting it for the near wall position, as it isn't really a corner as the depth of the cabinet is very short compared with the wavelengths the sub is producing, it's not the same as a long wall. Of course, in reality you should try it with all three settings and see which works best, sub setup is rarely so straightforward. For example, if you set it for wall and you're in a place where it excites the room modes particularly well, you'd need to set it to free to reduce output.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
It's set to the wall position and it sounds great to be honest. I was just wondering if I should change it before I properly wire it in and hide all the cables this weekend, thanks for your help!
Try all the settings, wall corner free. Also try 123 settings.
For placement you can put the bl2 anywhere in the room and it does not have to be beside your tv.
Thanks!
It can only be placed next to my tv because of the space but thanks again for your advice!
