I have the following set-up:
Now, I want to connect the two with the NL/ML converter.
There is a caveat...I would like to be able to run the BS 9000 and BV 11 at the same time, i.e. while my wife listens to the BS 9000, I want to watch TV with my headset. My dealer tells me that is not possible, only one source can be played at one time.
I find that hard to believe and I am looking for a confirmation from experienced users.
Many thanks for your response berlin2010.
The reason why I want to link them is that I want to be able to make use of the BL8000 and BL 2 also when watching TV (with the wife).
I will try the converter or may have it demoed at the dealer. Only need it in April.
Please advice your dealer to have a look at page 60 in the user guide for BV11.
"The television (with or without additional speakers) and the audio system (with a connected set of speakers) is set up in the same room:
– – –
Television: VM OPTION 1
Audio system: Option 1 SHARE SPEAKERS: NO"
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks Millemissen.
Just checked the manual myself and there seems to be hope. This would justify the hefty price tag of the converter. Will call my dealer again. I think, I was speaking to one of the trainees the other day.
I will move to a new apartment in April and want to have it all properly installed. Will keep you posted on the outcome.
Apart from your 'little problem', you may consider to connect the speakers directly to the tv - this makes the handling much easier (and gives you a better sound!).
Did you know that the converter can act like a BeoLink Active as well - you can actually add speakers and an ir-eye to it.
If you find a clever place for it in your new location, your wife could have a place to listen to all the sources of the BS9000 there
Of cource you would need an extra set of speakers, but it is worth thinking of this possibility, when planing how the setup could be - allowing for some changes in the future.
Good to know and something I will save for later.
I also have an Ouverture with BL 4000 that I will use in another room for now. Once I go BL 18, this will be the time to reconsider.
OK, now it is official, by B&O customer service. It is not possible to connect a BV 11 with a BS 9000 and BL 8000/BL 2 to use in a set-up that would allow to have both run simultaeounesly in the same room, i.e. listen to the BS 9000 and at the same time watch a movie on the BV 11, not even with headphones, because music mode will automatically mute the picture.
This is a major let down, if there are 2 or more people in the household, they must both agree to watch or listen at the same time. Well, this just saved me 700 Euro for not buying the NL/ML converter.
According to my dealer there is a middle way, i.e. to leave the speakers connected to the BS 9000 and this would allow me use them also when watching TV but with limited sound option, i.e. the BV 11 speaker would not act for speech but output the same as the BS 8000. So, also no special effects.
Possible solution: almando powerlink switch with the beosound 9000 on the priority input 1.
when you are alone or turn off the bs9000, you will enjoy a 2.1 systeem on your bv11
look at the site of almando as they give an almost identical example with a v1.
it is only 250 euro to enjoy almost 7000 euro worth of speakers
Thanks flx, looks very interesting. Need to check in detail, whether that solution will make me happy. But you are absolutely correct, it would be a shame not being able to use the BL 8000 with the BV 11.
I will go the Almando way for now. Hope the quality is up to my expectations. At least it does what I intend to do with my BS 9000/BV 11 set-up. My dealer will install it.
I will keep you posted.

Sorry, I can`t believe that running an audio- and a videomaster in the same room simultaneously won`t work.
If I understand you correctly, you want listen to music via your BS9000 with BL8000 and BL2 connected via PL.
At the same time you want to watch TV with your BV11 and listen to TV sound via built in speakers or via connected headphones.
Exactly this will work with all BVs and audiosystems that I know (I have no BV11), if configured both to option 1.
Set your BV11 to V.OPT 1 and your BS9000 to A.OPT 1. Now your audiosystem will only respond to commands in audiomode like RADIO, CD, N.MUSIC...incl. volume control. Your BV won`t respond in any way. At the same time your BV will only respond to videocommands like TV, DVD, DTV...incl. volume control.
If you want BS9000 sound on your BV just press AV-RADIO (CD, A.MEM....). BV sound on your BL8000s: AV-TV (DVD...)
Maybe worth a try. At least this did work for decades since the 1980s with all Beolink (MCL- and ML) setups.

Stefan you're rigth!
But an aditional note: the NL/ML converter must be setup correctly (the ML-role must be VMaster)
