Hi Guys,

I can't for the life of me remember what button/s to press to get the heads to move into the play position without a tape installed in order to clean them.

I've done the usual google searching and checked the forums but I can't seem to find the info. I've managed to find out how to do it on a 5500 (press and hold stop and press play) but that doesn't work on the 5000.

Thanks in advance,

Lee

Hold STOP while pressing PLAY.
In autoreverse decks (= not Beocord 5000) pressing TURN then switches the active pressure roller.
When done, press STOP.

That doesn't seem to work here Martin, I'm sure it worked in the past... but I honestly thought it was a different combination of buttons....

Anyone with a becord 5000 to hand want to check theirs?

I've tried holding down stop then pressing play. Tried holding play and then pressing stop... tried holding stop and pressing all the buttons but nothing seems to engage the heads.

Can anyone else try theirs and see if they can get it to work?

Thanks

Lee

Probably just me getting old.
The procedure I described above is indeed for the Beocord 5500 etc.
There doesn't seem to be a similar procedure fo Beocord 5000.

Thanks for giving it a try Dom.

And Martin, the strange thing is I remember doing it on the 5000 not long after I got it. I can't remember what I had to press but it was different from the 5500 that's for sure. Im sure I read the instructions on the web somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it.

Thanks again,

Lee
