Hi, I'm a new member and hope that someone with a bit more experience might be able to help with an unusual problem that my Ouverture is suffering.
Having recently bought it, with the usual failed CD unit, I discovered it already had the B&O update to the CD-PRO II, as used on the 3000/3200. Mark at av-repairs.com did a brilliant job of fixing the laser and checked the CD interface board for me, but there's still no sound from the CD.
The radio and tape both play fine so there's no problem with the preamp or the Beolabs (2500s). The CD reads, displays track numbers and times and shows no faults in test mode. It's just silent. I know the laser is now working, as I tested tried swapping it with the one in my Beosound Century (which is also CD-PRO converted). Both lasers work in the Century, but neither gives any sound in the Ouverture. There seem to be no breaks in the cables leading to the CD-PRO (I tested the Ouverture ones in the Century). So the finger seems to be pointing towards the main PCB.
All ideas on what to check next will be greatly appreciated!
