I have a Beomaster 5500 with very limited range for the remote. About .66m. I have replaced all aluminum caps on every board, including IR board. I have replace the IR sensor. I re-soldered all connections on IR board. I have cleaned the lenses. All to no avail. It works flawlessly out to about .66m, but then nothing, while every other piece of B&O equipment in the room which are upwards of 5 meters away work fine. I have tried 2 Beolink 1000's and 2 Beo 4's.
Any thoughts where to look next?
Thanks for the help.
Brian
Hi,
Did you replace the cap behind the Beomaster's IR window?
Is the IR window clean?
Did you make sure voltage is correct?
What lenses are you talking about?
Jacques
Hi Jacques,
I am not sure which cap you are referring to. I replaced all three aluminum axial caps on the IR board. I did not replace any of the flat disc capacitors of which there appears to be one on the back of the IR board below the IR sensor. A component location number would be great if you have it.
As for the 'lenses', I am referring to the IR windows, both send and receive. Both have been cleaned.
I am not sure what voltage you are talking about and I do not know where a measurement point would be. Any information you provide regarding that would also be appreciated.
Thank you,
Being at Evelina's Hospital in London right now, I cannot be of further assistance. Sorry!
I certainly understand. Hope you are well.
