Upon asking my query posted here yesterday in a B&O store in Germany (my query on BL5+3 with Samsung instead of expensive 65" B&O TV), the knowledgeable salesman said I probably want a bit of patience since
a) later this year there will be a replacement for the BV 12 (dropping plasma) in a 75 and 85" version and
b) in "a few weeks" a very affordable new "glassy" TV up to 55" which will be given the name AVANT...

Interesting. 4K, too. If it's "very affordable", it might be worth moving up from my BV11, particularly if it offers an improved audio performance, which my dealer suggested it would.
Dealers should be finding out this week what's coming out over the next few months! They are being invited to Brussels to view the forthcoming products.
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
It is getting more and more exiting - are we getting two different new BV's???
What I have have heard, is that one new is coming, starting out with a 55'er version.
It's springtime
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Chris Townsend:The affordable thing is something I have heard a few times. /
Unfortunatly my understanding of the term 'affordable' is rather different from what B&O seems to understand

I miss my avant. :(
I got the same Information from my dealer. Affordable new BV coming in may, starting with 55´´ screen. Sounds interesting....
@ Flappo : Enjoy the New Avant is coming !
DMacri: Millemissen: Unfortunatly my understanding of the term 'affordable' is rather different from what B&O seems to understand MM You still have to review the argument for what you get - the value proposition with B&O. One example is my BS5000 system - yes, it's a great stereo system, but it's also my whole house audio system with speakers off the relay boxes in 4 rooms and counting, all with control for source selection, volume, etc. in the remote rooms. I still think it's incredible that I can control my turntable from my bathroom! As a second example, my BV Avant - surround sound processor, stereo speakers, universal remote, IR system controller, video processor, audio system integration, and excellent video screen. How much would it cost to buy equivalent quality and performance in separates? Then, would you pay an additional premium to have it all integrated and installed in a stylish package? In the end, I think you are getting what you pay for.

Hi DMacri,
you really don't have to convince me of the 'values' and 'benefits' of the B&O equipment.
Having had B&O gear for over 35 years now - the house is full of it - I am absolutely aware of what a B&O product is.
Just saying that the word 'affordable' can be understood in many ways. The price of an 'affordable' B&O TV still isn't what most people would call 'affordable'!
Buying Bang & Olufsen is a choice you make - some people have to make more 'sacrifices' than others to be able to do so.
Instead of 'affordable' I would rather call it 'great value for the money spend'.
B&O have no value nowadays. In 1 year and half, a BeoVision12 loose 50% of his value.
Buying Bang & Olufsen is just a question of taste and passion for the brand.
Affordability is connected with personal circumstances, prices, and the rate of change of new models.
You could bankrupt yourself buying every latest 'affordable' product every time there was a new model or update. If you are satisfied with the performance of what you have got then why replace it?

The problem I have with the 11 is
a. the sound is rather thin , the deep rich timbre of the avant is sorely missing
b. no controls on the tv at all ( what if the beo4 runs out of juice at xmas !?!?) and my wifi goes down...
c. terrible viewing angles , head on the picture is stunning , slightly off angle and the pq really is naff , greys out and is just very poor ( i suppose it's designed to go flat on a wall )
Otherwise I think the 11 is a superb tv , it's just not to lcd what the avant was to crt.
What is ?
I know I've only just got one, but surely the BV 7-55 Mk2 until we see the new Tv's.
I'm very impressed with the Beolab 7-6. First BV in ages that i have not felt the need to supplement with a sub. Picture significantly better than the 11. Built in Bluray.
BeoBoy68: B&O have no value nowadays. In 1 year and half, a BeoVision12 loose 50% of his value.
even more 'value for rhe money' if you buy it as being 1 1/2 years old
Speaking of TVs, I notice that now, at least over here, there are absolutely no Panasonic plasmas available from any major retail outlet except for a couple of small, low end 720p sets. I didn't expect the supply to dry up so quickly when they announced that 2014 was the last year for the plasmas.
Since I thought the 65 inch VT panel was what the BV12 was based on, seems to explain the replacement of this set.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
If i'd known about it I'd have ben tempted.
Then again the 55 is ENORMOUS
Amazing tv ,m just TOO big for my front room :)
Mine doesn't fit.
Chris's B&O fanboy logic=buy much bigger house.
As we know one or both tv's is 4k :-) Lets hope they have projector out like the bv 7 has???
May have to up grade the 55" Portable in the lounge or wait for 4k projectors to come down in price..hmm
Well....... About time that name of glory came back. It's been too long!!!!!!!!!
Very much looking forward to seeing these new models. Problem I have is that 55" is too big for my living space. I was hoping I could accommodate it but really can't. Do we know if there will be models under this screen size and if so, when will they be released? Is it also confirmed that there is no inbuilt BluRay?
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.
There are some confliction information here. The original post mentions sizes up to 55" while another posts mentions sizes from 55".
If we are talking an affordable TV solution I would suspect the first to be true.
Beovision Eclipse gen2 (GX) w/ floorstand, Beolab 14.2, 4 speaker Shape and ATV4/Chromecast.
Beoplay A9mk4 GVA, Beosound 1 GVA, H2, H3, H8, E6, Beoplay EQ
I couldn't get over the sheer size of the bv7 55 when I first saw it at the Knightsbridge store , it seemed to fill up half the shop !
the speaker at the bottom was even wider !!!

I guess the OP says there are two TV's coming, one up to 55" and one from 55".
55" is what I'm looking for, I love the design of the 7, but it is indeed huge, much larger than a recent 55" model. Current day bezels (like on the BV11) are much thiner.
I'm looking forward to see what's coming! Affordable sounds nice, unless that is the same what they call the BV11-55...
Beolit 12 - Beolab 4 pc (dead now) - Beoplay H5 - Beolab 9 - BeoRemote One BT - Beoplay M3
Just received a newsletter from my dealer (well, one of them):
"Torsdag den 8. maj afholder vi en speciel VIP event, hvor Bang & Olufsen har verdenspremiere på 2 nye lækre produkter.
Nærmere information følger senere..."
Means two new products in May!
More information to come, is all that is written.
One of them probably the Essence, the other one the....???
BUT the Essence was already announced for April!
So maybe we talk 2 new, new products
P.S. They are offering a nice discount (10.000 DKK) on the BL18, if you trade in your BeoLab 4000, BeoLab 6000/6002 or BeoLab 8000/8002.
Flappo: The problem I have with the 11 is a. the sound is rather thin , the deep rich timbre of the avant is sorely missing
As I've said before, you can't really blame the BV11 for having 'thin' audio when it's a thin (relatively speaking) LCD TV. The single reason the Avant has deep rich timbre is due to the fact it has a very deep CRT cabinet! It's the size and depth of the cabinet that makes the richness and depth of the audio. You can't get or expect that on a TV with a 5cm depth.
To improve the audio, add a quality subwoofer. Definitely helps. BL11, even better a BL19.
Millemissen:So maybe we talk 2 new, new products
The TV and a new HiFi, I think? Not the Essence (that's out in April), as you say. My dealer mentioned a new HiFi.
The new HiFi is the BeoPad a screen tablet !
Infos allready post, with the TVs name Avant !
If you say so
New TV + New Speaker
Beovision 11-55, Beovision 10-46, Beovision 7-40, Beocenter 6-23, Beosound 9000, Beolab 18, Beolab 19, 2xBeolab 3, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 2, Beocom 6000, Beosound 3, Playmaker
Millemissen: P.S. They are offering a nice discount (10.000 DKK) on the BL18, if you trade in your BeoLab 4000, BeoLab 6000/6002 or BeoLab 8000/8002.
So, assuming these TV's are 4K, hopefully this means a 4K BeoSystem coming soon :) (If it's not just a firmware update on the existing BSys4, doubt it though)
ari: So, assuming these TV's are 4K, hopefully this means a 4K BeoSystem coming soon :) (If it's not just a firmware update on the existing BSys4, doubt it though)
Why would we need a brand new "BeoSystem"? There's no standalone 4K panel to manage! No need for a new BS. Certainly won't be soon.
well I did say assuming the panels are 4K :D
My dealer confirmed May 8th as the date for the unveiling of the new TV, costing less than the 11 (I was about to buy the 55") and with a 4K panel.Another dealer from another country told me that I might be a bit surprised by the design...
Not sure whether somewhere here the price has been confirmed (if so, I apologize), but a B&O dealer in NL has it on his webpage: five euro's under 7000. First key feature mentioned: "Excellent sound"....

BeoGreg: Interesting, thanks. 10000 dkk it´s 1300 € !
Interesting, thanks. 10000 dkk it´s 1300 € !
We only get 1000 euro's and probably the speakers have to be in excellent condition (not a single scratch), my guess is you won't get as much for swapping a BL4000 or 6000. Not sure if you get this amount for the 8000 or the 8002! I ask the dealer at thursday! Maybe he will be interested in my 10 years old BL8000. Love the oak and the excellent sound from the new BL18.
"Believe nothing you read and only half of what you see, let your ears tell you the truth."
Why do you get 10.000 DKK (1300 euro)? That's 300 euro's more then we get. What more do you have in Denmark then we have here.. O, Yes off course you have Bang & Olufsen
