Hi,

is it a bad idea to buy a used BV7-40 MKIV? It has a BL7-2 speaker and floor stand. It is quite old by now.

Regards from Sweden :)

Depends on what you expect from your tv/setup - and on the price of course.

However, if you regard it 'quite old', you - maybe - should wait for a/the new BV.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

MM is right it matters what your wants/needs are.

I've owned my BV7 for nearly a year and am really happy with the picture and sound quality and design look. Yes it will not be as dynamic as the latest B&O offering but mines coupled to an Apple TV unit and fits well with my furniture/room design.

I would always say if it ticks all your boxes then it is good for your needs but it might be worth waiting until the new B&O TV is released to see if this alters the prices on pre loved TV's.

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

I saw one today at an auction and I must put a bid on it before monday. It didnt turn on because they didnt have the code so I don't know how it is working either. I saw a lot of dust from the fans and it had cables missing for the beolab. I wanted a BV7 for my study a long time and I tought this might be it. Since Im quite interested in tearing things apart I think I could clean it up myself.

But how about new software, puc for apple tv an so on? I googled and found a few people talking about the IV model and they had a few bad things to say about it. Perhaps I should skip it? The design I like very much altough. It did have like a smudge on the contrast screen, probably from cleaning.

I did not win the auction, someone put in a bid for 5 000 SEK more. I don't know why because it was not in very good shape but too bad because I have always wanted a Beovision 7. Perhaps I can get another model to replace my avant. Look forward to seeing the new avant tomorrow. Lets all think about beoworld while we sip our champagne at the introduction!
