In a previous post, I had the trouble of getting my BeoSystem 3 to control my Samsung TV screen. After talking with BeoCare, I found that the problem was that you cannot have the BeoSystem 3 control BOTH an HDMI expander and a non-B&O screen while also being able to control a projector. Therefore, I removed the HDMI expander from the BeoSystem 3 via its menu and ... voila!.... the BeoSystem 3 can now turn the Samsung TV screen on and off.
However, NOW I've lost the menu overlay if an HDMI source is selected from standby. I can only get the menu overlay if I start up the BeoSystem 3 by selecting the BeoCenter 2 as a source (i.e., an analog source). If I start out by starting up the BeoSystem 3 with an analog source I can also get the menu overlay if I subsequently select an HDMI (digital) source.
As I had never had this problem before having the BeoSystem 3 control the Samsung screen, I thought I would do a bit more trouble shooting - as BeoCare did not have a solution. Before starting up the BeoSystem 3, I first turned on the Samsung screen. This was my procedure before I had the BeoSytem 3 control the screen. I found that if I had the tv screen on BEFORE I started the BeoSystem 3, I had perfect menu overlay on all sources.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this?
