Hi all members !

I have a BL3500 in the kitchen and I installed it wall mounted from about 1.80m from floor.

From all the speakers I have (Penta MK3 alone, BL6000 with BL2, BL2500) the 3500 is the latest in the list. I know it is not a hifi speaker compared to the others. Bass are not well rendered, I'm obliged to push to level 7 (max for bass) to get some... BUT last night I had to change my lamp, the BL3500 was in action, and I found the sound much better when placed more or less in front of speakers.

So maybe wall mounted is not the best solution (even if very convenient) and should be placed on furniture on its dedicated stand ?

Any experience on this is welcome !

Have a nice day

Thank you

Franck

More or less bass depends on reflections from the wall/floor behind/beneath and other. It also depends where you are located in the room how much bass you experience. So there isn't a simple answer for the best location or solution.

BTW, I did replace the (hardenend and cracked rubber) surroundings from the woofers from several BL3500/6000's with more flexible rubber versions.

The common positive reaction is that there is more bass present with these rubber surroundings. Maybe an idea to consider.

Hi Beobuddy,

Thanks for sharing what you did with those kind of speakers.

Did you replace speakers by other B&O brand new or did you replace only the rubber ribbon ?

In that case I don't have any experience on this. I will check first if there are some cracks before.

Thanks and have a nice day

Franck

You can adjust bl3500 to be directed more downward. That's what I did.

Hi Hfat,

Means with the screws you put it more on floor direction ? Can it be done without removing it ?

Thank you

Franck

From 3550 user guide:

To allow for placement at different heights, BeoLab 3500 can be tilted to aim the sound towards your listening position (for example, if BeoLab 3500 is mounted in a high position, tilt it downwards).

"Tilt it" means just rotate it by hand ? I would avoid to beak something and prefer asking before.

Thanks

Franck

Hi Millemissen,

I always like your reply, always pushing to curiosity ... :-) and asking to find solutions by ourselves, I like that as well.

So... and why not ? Due to the weight and mechanical constraint both on wall mounted system and on the wall itself with risk of cracks ? Or other reason ?

In that case for more verbosity !

Thanks

Franck

I've done it a lot of times, no problem

no pulling, no pushing

Just gently rotate

As far as I remember there is a small screw that fixes the tube in the bracket.

But if you have done it 'a lot of times', I stand corrected!

I never 'dared' trying Embarrassed

Agree,

It was easy. Did it myself this weekend. Have my BL3500 mounted high up on a wall and did not realize that you could adjust the angle.
