I have a beocenter 7700 with no remote and I'm wondering if the Master Control Panel 5000 would work with it.

Welcome to Beoworld !

Sorry but the answer to your very first post here is a no.
MCP5000 works exclusively with the Beomaster 5000 (and connected datalink products).
You need a Master Control Panel 7700:

No it won't. You may find that a bc7000 remote might or perhaps a 6000 or 8000 with limited functions working. Someone will know but the mcp5000 certainly doesn't.

So...where do I purchase a reasonably priced 7700 or Beocenter terminal remote for my 7700? One more question, how hard is it to change the belt in the cassette player? I'm guessing it's the belt because the tape wont play. I lied one more question, do the led lights that display 0000 ever go out? Is it possible to replace them? That's two, sorry.

Ebay would be the best place to look for a remote.
The belts are fairly easy to replace. I can supply correct belts with mounting instructions.
The display segments can die. It's not too common with the Beocenter 7700 but I have seen a few cases.
They segments are not easily replaced, often best done by replacing the whole display element or even the
top board of the processor/display sandwich module.

Some 10 years ago I used Dillen's services (belt and instructions) to repair a BeoCord 5000.

Easy and well worthwhile.

So I commend Dillen/Martin to you.
