All,

When will B&O stores receive the new Avant, does anyone know?

My wife and I went to the B&O Store in Pasadena, and were contemplating a purchase of a BV-11, but while I was in the store, a little birdie told me about the new Avant (especially since during our conversation I had mentioned that my last B&O television was an Avant, which I miss dearly).

Now that the Avant has been unveiled, I'm curious about availability, pricing of the stand options, as well as whether any promotions will be coupled to the television.

I currently have a pair of B&W CM9 speakers through a Rotel Surround sound receiver, which will need to find a new home to partially fund the purchase! LOL (I'm wondering if B&O stores ever help new customers with getting rid of non brand hi end equipment... yeah, likely not).

I've won the first battle, (the wife acceptance factor), she's somewhat excited (or resigned) to the fact that we'll likely be getting "my crazy television" in the near future. Devil

Cheers all!

My local store in NYC will have it in a couple of weeks.  $8,000 for the TV + $2,000 for the motorized floor stand.  Not sure of pricing on the table stand or wall mount.  'Doubt there will be any promotions - they'll probably have trouble keeping up with demand without any.   And no, they wouldn't be interested in your hifi gear.

p.s. - smart move on holding off on the BV11  Wink

Thanks for the info. Geez $2K for the motorized floor stand WOW. And I kinda suspected that I'd have to sell off my current gear!

Serves me right for getting into the mindset that I needed to get out of the Olufsen brand -- though the experience I had with the BV8 would have driven anyone batty!

Again, thanks for the information; glad I held off as well!

I guess I'm going to have to consider another placement option, then, because I had planned on spending a bit more $ on actual L and R speakers (or a sub at the same time as the Avant purchase).

All the stores in NYC have it on display.  All the stands are $2,000 as far as I know ... doesn't seem THAT unreasonable considering they were always $1,000 before and now they do A LOT more.

I've not been in the B&O scene for quite a few years now so the last television I owned with a motorized stand was a B&O Avant store display model I got at a significant discount -- so I've been spoiled in that the price of the stand was built into the price of the television.

Although I'm glad I waited in purchasing the BV Avant, I think I need to begin doing research with regards to what the biggest bang for my dollar will be. Obviously, a BV-11 (46) + stand will be less expensive and I can use some extra cash for an external pair of speakers / sub. That'd be more $$ along with the Avant.

Additionally, I'm of the opinion that more moving parts mean more chances for faults, or things that can go wrong, so the BV-11 without the moving speakers may be less of a "worry" in the long run. Who knows. It is a peculiar problem to have.
