Dear all,
Firstly, I'm pleased to inform that after two and a half years of struggle I've finally got all my products. I had mentioned here earlier how my dealer here in India cheated me by taking the advance and not delivering the products. It took a lot of legal work, regular follow ups with the local cops and lots and lots of emails to B&O Denmark. Finally, all the efforts have paid off. I would again like to thank Mr. Michael Pedersen and Mr. Niels Moller Nielsen from Denmark for all their efforts to resolve this mess.
Would post pictures as soon as I figure out how. (Unable to upload multiple files) I have a few questions:
1. I have Beolab 18s + 19 + BV11 in a home theatre set up. The installer told me that since the speakers are installed with the TV, they would always remain on when I switch on the TV. Also, I cannot select which speakers to keep on and which to keep off (unless I switch them ALL off from their mains power supply). So, even if I'm watching normal TV, all 4 speakers would remain on. Is that true?
2. In case of an avant, the installer has told me that the TV would have to be turned on and off after each viewing from the mains power because of its motorised speaker system that rolls down. I've tried turning on the avant without turning on and off the mains power and the TV does not respond. As soon as I turn off the mains power and turn it back on, it starts functioning. Is this true? So basically this TV does not really have a standby feature?
Not able to upload multiple pictures. :( So am uploading them one by one. Please bear with me :(
The Beovision Avant 55" (sorry about the picture quality - have clicked them all with my iPhone.)
Beovision 11-55 with Beolab Front 18s and 19.
Beolab 18s at the rear. Btw i did not order the red speaker cover, it has to be changed to dark grey.
Another Beovision 11-55 in my bed room :)
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
I love the way the new beoone remote feels. Its weightless. Even though I'm not so sure about the way you select sources - by pressing the TV button and scrolling through the list of sources. In that respect I think the beo4 is better where you just have to push one button. Anyway, i love it :)
Finally the H6 headphones. Beolab 14.4 are yet to be installed. So will upload their pictures next week.
Sorry about the multiple posts, but I'm excited and wanted to share the pics with you all :)
I look forward to getting your replies on my queries above. Thanks :)

I really like this. It's rare to see dark walls in any interior nowadays!

Congrats, shows that it help to fight for your rights, it also shows that crooks are available everywhere, and a beautiful setup and a beautiful home. Enjoy be proud and keep posting, your questions will be answered from members with more knowledge than me.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Hi gmittal,
nice that you finally have your stuff together.
To your first question:
The installer probably made a 'speakers group' with all (!) speakers associated/assigned to the tv command/button - for watching and listening to tv.
However you can make up to 9 different 'speaker groups' and choose them manually - just as you please and need it.
And you - yourself - can change, what was programmed as the default group to another one, if you prefer that.
Didn't the installer inform/instruct you how this works???
Please do consult the user guide, which you can find online on the B&O homepage.
N.B. You can create a default speakers group individually for each of the sources on the tv - such as one with the two fronts and the sub for music listening through Spotify.
You certainly don't have to turn off the speakers by the mains!
There is a tv - and there is a BV

Hi Gmittal,
Thanks for your post, and your story is one that I have been following with great interest. I take my hat off to you for your perseverance.
And. In answer to your questions, and some of the other people here could also help as I don't have a BV but this is what i believe:
1. Your BL18's and 19 are WISA compatible with your BV11, so they could either be installed via power link cables, or alternatively without wires. Each speaker is plugged in to the wall for power, and that power switch should stay on. Your beolabs will sense when to switch off and on when there is no signal or when there is a signal being sent to them. You can see this because there will be a green light at the top of the speaker (ring) . In the Beovision you can create speaker groups yourself and for example if you're watching TV maybe the news you just want the BV speaker and not all 4. So you can do this by creating speaker groups. You could even just have say the TV going and if you have rear speakers whilst sitting on the couch so you don't annoy anyone else in the house
2. Any avant owners know about this? When i have played with it in store they have never plugged the Avant out of the wall - that seems silly. It should as soon as it goes in standby go back to its "off position" - that's what it is designed to do.
Hope this helps.
Cheers from Australia

Others have addressed your detailed questions, but I wanted to say not only how happy I am to see that B&O took care of you and you finally have your equipment, and also to compliment you on your beautiful home and installation. B&O looks right at home there, looks like a wonderfully comfortable and stylish place.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

BeoNut since '75
Dear All,
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement and your kind compliments. Yes, it really took a lot of effort and fight to get these products. I don't know how the people at Denmark could have gone so wrong with their choice of dealer here. But in the end they made good on their promise and I'm happy about that. However, in the process B&O's reputation has taken a tremendous beating here coz I wasn't the only customer scammed by this dealer.
Thanks for telling me about the speaker groups, I was scared that if the entire home theatre works every time together with the TV then perhaps my family would kill me coz of all the noise. The installer has used transmitter 1 to install the speakers wirelessly. I will try to set it up today.
Yes im a bit peeved about the Avant coz when I turn it on from the remote, the green light on the top flashes but the screen stays dead and the speaker does not come down automatically. I have asked the installer to come back on Monday and give a proper demonstration (he hasn't even done that yet). He seems capable enough and this dealer is the new sole authorised B&O dealer in all of India. The dealer also told me that his people went to Denmark for their training. So I'm guessing his people should be competent enough but yes this "problem" is very upsetting. I can't be asked to first turn on the TV from the mains and then turn on the TV from the remote every time. It's ridiculous.
Will talk to him tomorrow and let you all know if the problem got resolved or not.
Thanks a lot everyone and have a nice weekend :)
After such a long time and struggle, it's great to see and hear that you are 'almost' there with your new products. It does sound as though some more training is required for the installation team. You should have had a full demonstration for your installation. This seems really shoddy to me. You've come this far and now it seems it's just some fine-tuning to get it all working as it should.
Keep on at them - your dealler/installer and B&O in Struer. As you say, their reputation has taken a hit on this and they should be pulling out all the stops to sort it out. India and other Asian/Eastern countries will be a massive market for B&O so they need to get it right.
Dave.
How did you get on? I hope everything is ok.
Cheers
Michael.
