hi all,

feel silly asking but I have read the blogs but cant find what this could be.

I have a beomaster 5500, has not marks/bumps etc but I dont have a remote

As it turns on you can hear the relays clicking and the red text showing on the screen (appears to be a power cycle) then it goes to stand by. is this normal ? ?

hope you can help

Others will be able to confirm, but it sounds like it is going into protection mode. The bias pots may need to be adjusted, but often the recommendation is to replace the old caps and the pots before adjusting the current level.

It sounds like it's doing that to me, too.

Check also the solder joints at the output stage driver transistors and the amplifier power relay.

thank you very much guys.

I have found a local service company that can fix it, so going down that route, as it all sounds very complex!

but your help is really appreciated , as its easy for punters like me to get lost in all the technical wording

Thanks a million
