I have never even seen the app, but are you actually logged in when you try to post with it?

It's likely that the website was down for a short while. The app does not detect if there's an error with the site and won't report it. The site was briefly down during this night for example.
One tip... when sending a message, do not exit the app immediately, or it may not have the time to fully send the message before being put to sleep by the system.
