Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying the new beovision avant 55". What do you guys think? Is it better than the Beovision 11? Also does anyone know what all comes with the TV and what all need to be purchased separately - like wall bracket, shutter glasses, remote etc?

thanks in advance!!

I will answer the easy bit : remote is included (new beoremote one), wall bracket and glasses are not.

As for it is better than BV11, nobody really knows yet.

If you prefer the design it will be better Big Smile.

Hi.

I recieved my Avant 1 month ago. I've read the different threads here and there seems to be a lot of people who report different problems with it. I'm so happy about my new tv. I haven't experienced any of the problems I've read about. The upscaling is good, but it's possible that you can find better ones. The picture is exellent, the sound outstanding and the movement is great. I've had the floorstand lent to me, as the tablestand was delayed from denmark. My dealer rang me yesterday and said that the stand was waiting for me now. I use it with apple-tv, my hd-tvbox, ps3 and a mac-mini.

Check it out and be your own critic!

I have had my BV11-55 for over 1.5 years and I am overall happy with it. There are some minor issues, so it is not perfect, but better than anything else out there from other manufacturers. The design is fantastic, the sound is great without the addition of extra speakers, but it really shines in a 5.1 setup. I recently saw the avant at a shop and I was not so keen on the design compared to the BV11. Difficult to comment whether the sound or video was better than the BV11 for the few minutes i was there. Certainly seems to be more future proof with the 4K panel.

BV11-55, BS9000, BL1, BL19, Transmitter 1, Beo4, Beocom 6000, BeoTalk1 200, Sennheiser HD600, McIntosh MHA100

BeoGreg:

Having owned and moved up from a BV11 (BV10 in the other room) and swapped this out for an Avant, the BV11 has a more superior picture for regular TV. The Avant definitely looks a little more blocky in places, as it has to upscale to that 4K panel. But, it's relatively minor. There are a few motion issues (blurring) with panning, but again it's relatively minor.

Upscaled Blu-ray looks fantastic and, of course, anything in 4K is absolutely stunning, but 4K is at such a premium - and will be for a long time - that I can't recommend the Avant as an upgrade, for the time being.

I'd stick with your BV11 - for now - if you own this TV. You could always buy yourself the One remote at a later date, which I prefer over the Beo 4.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the Avant, but for regular day-to-day TV, the picture is inferior to the BV11, simply due to the upscaling required. In hindsight, I should have bought a WISA-compatible BV11-55, but I couldn't get one at a reasonable price.

@moxxey : don't forget that the picture may also seem inferior "naturally", as you're watching your broadcast signal in a 55" screen vs 46 at the same distance : small details are more visible now. 4K panel or not.

A good point.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.
