Hi I thought this may be of interest. I purchased two 7 pin Din to 7 pin Din Acorn BBC Micro Model Cassette Tape Leads at £5.99 each, just as an experiment to se if they would work as audio and datalink cables between by Beogram 6002, Beocord 8000 and Beomaster 6000. They do, I can control the tape deck and record deck using the remote now through the Beomaster. I assume they must be correctly wired as everything works as it should and there's no hum from the turntable. They may not be of the best quality, but for the price they will do me until I can afford to have two professionally made audiophile type cables made up.

Yes, they should be correctly wired, the issue is likely to be the lack of shielding on the audio and Datalink wires, so you may see reduced stereo separation between the channels, as well as hearing "clicking" on the audio caused by cross-talk from the Datalink wires. That is a low price, but please bear in mind that for a few pounds extra, you can get the correct fully shielded cables for good sound quality!

For short leads (up to 1 metre), I use shielded network cable with Neutrik plugs.
