I have just seen the documentary "Mr. Blue Sky - the story of Jeff Lynne & ELO".
In this very interesting film, he tells that his first "Studio" at home was a reel to reel Beocord 2000 DeLuxe. And offcourse he still have it. This documentary is recommended for everyone who likes Beatles, ELO or just music in general. A very interesting look "behind the scenes" at one of the Worlds great producers.

I bought the BluRay ELO live in Hyde Park 2014 where it's included as a bonus. You can find it on iTunes too... but if you really like ELO, you might perhaps better buy the BluRay and get both the concert and 2 documentaries...it's cheaper than buying them one by one on iTunes.

Thanks for the link(s).

I like the Jeff Lynne/ELO stuff too and have now put the bluray disc on my wishlist ;-)

I was attending the concert last year; Jeff did a good job though I wish the setlist was a little longer Wink

And yes, the documentary is excellent. Watch out for the new album which can be pre-ordered now Laughing

Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.

Mr Lynne is one of my favourite producers, has done wonders with Tom Petty, Joe Walsh and the latest album from Bryan Adam's "Get Up" (worth a listen just for production values).

but I do dislike his remake on Mr Blue Sky album, just felt he tried too hard to make it too perfect, there is nothing wrong with worts and all sometimes and a bit of Bev Bevan drumming.

good sense of humour too ... he calls his home in LA "Bungalow Towers"....

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

if you subscribe to Mr Lynne on YouTube (ELO/VEVO) you get a number of original ELO music videos....
