I have a pair of beolab 8000 and would like to connect them to a Beomaster 901 which I am looking at purchasing. Are these two systems compatible? Is there an aux in on the beomaster 901 so that I could also connect and Ipod to the system?
I would say that this is a non-starter and less than ideal.
There are Phono and Tape inputs to the amp and that's it. The speaker outputs are for 4x passive speakers, not for Beolab active speakers - not unless you invest in some more kit.
I'd be tempted if you really want the BM901 to buy some passive speakers of that period and use the BL8000's for a more modern, non-vintage B&O system or TV.
Dave.
I would agree with Dave. These two are not a great match in any way really. The 8000s are pretty powerful speakers and the 901 was a pretty basic amplifier compared to the rest of the range at the time.
It is still a nice piece though, and sounds really rather nice with some period speakers. See what you can find
