Hi

I'm considering buying a BM5500 to use with my Beovox s45 and a Philips 677 turntable. I'm wondering if the BM5500 have a build-in RIAA to power the turntable or I should buy a seperate RIAA pre-amp?

Thanks in advance

BM5500 has a built in RIAA amplifier. Should be fine by connecting the turntable either to PHONO-DIN or RCA inputs.

The 5500 has a capable phono MM preamp.
But a nice Beogram 5005 for instance would be a better visual match!

Thanks for the answers!

What about the Beomaster 5000? It should sound better than the 5500, but does it also have a RIAA preamp?

Yes it does. And yes, it sounds better than the 5500!

But then the 5500 can be slightly modified to sound like a 5000.

Details on Tim’s Notebook at Beocentral.
