Dear BeoWorld Members,

I am new to this forum and I wonder if you could support with my query .

I have a set of Beomaster 4400 combined with Beovox S45-2, and I have recently bought used Beogram 4004 to connect to the system, but it appears to have an issue - with what I believe is power supply.
At first, after connecting the setup, Beogram worked well. I had to disconnect the set due to refurbishment of the flat, but everything was kept secured and intact. After some time, I connected the set again and, unfortunately, the issue occured - slide transport started, but after about 1 second it froze (and light went down) - appearing that power supply connection is lost. Power supply is not delivered when the START button is pressed.
I have not attempted to open/repair Beogram yet as, I currently do not have the tools to do so.

I wonder if you are able to help advise if my assessement is correct, or perhaps direct me to the service centre in Denmark (I am aware of two)?

I was searching for some information on the forum, and if I have missed a relevant topic I would appreciate if you could point me in that direction.

Thank you!

Hi Alicja

Does the light go out or down?

If the light goes down when the tonearme comes to the recordplatter it seems that the current limiting switch doesn´t work and the current of the tonearm coil draws the power down.

There are two kinds of limiting switches, one is a mechanical switch, pressed by a lever, the other one is an electronic switch realised with transistors, resistors and caps om the mainboard.

Don´t let it in this state too long, the coil will get hot, melt and get damaged.

Best regards

Christian

Hi Christian

Thank you for kind replay and helping out -

The light is out. Currently, after plugging Beogram to power supply, the light does not turn on. I have kept it off since then and I have started looking for a specialist to help ideally in Denmark (or Germany) to hopefully get it fixed.

Best Regards
