Hello,

Can somebody , please , help me to find out the serial transfer protocol between a beolink passive and a beosound 9000 ( mk1 ) ? ( how manu start bits, address bits , function bits ( ex: volume ), stop bits ?)

Also : is there a compatibility list for the beolink passive with / between the B&O units ? or issues with beolink passive not functioning with some devices ?

I have a beosound 9000 , that works ok with a mcl / ml convertor beolink box , but does not work with a regular beolink passive box ( with which it worked before )

Any help would greatly be appreciated, thank you.

Adrian

Adrian,

A Warm Welcome to Beoworld..

Firstly, you don't need to know the MasterLink protocol which is very complex to resolve your problem.

Any B&O product which has a Masterlink socket (See diagram below) will all work with all the basic functions.

Your BeoSound 9000 will work when connected using a standard MasterLink cable between it and the Beolink Passive.

Beolink Converter Datalink/ML Type # 1611, 1612, 1613 & 1614

ML/MCL Converter Type # 1650, 1651 & 1653 plus 1696

Passive Converter Type # 1655, 1656, 1657 & 1658 plus 1666

Active Converter Type # 1616 and 163x

Regards Keith....
