Today I went to work in a print shop in one of the poorest part of Mexico city, Ixtapalapa. Its a 15 Km trip and as it was Friday and payday and a long holiday weekend a lot of traffic, 15 Km 1 hour 15 Min.

As you see heavy traffic, next pic see the taxis, they dont know the city, but drive as they own it.

Check in the red circle luxury workers transport, 1st class seats, I fight these taxis every day, also take a look at the power lines and mast, someone hit it, but as it is sustained by the cables it wont go down, its been like this for about a year now. Some 10,000 Volts up there, the small black box is a transformer for 127/220 V. They hang them in the air, by earthquake they come down and whole parts of the city has no power for hours

On the way back I took a short cut, a some 3 Km long street with a green zone in the middle, well the people in this part of the city needed a market more than a green zone, here the tire market.

As this an unorganized market, no garbage service or facilities

Here the real stuff, used, new, stolen or otherwise collected, The short cut didn't save me any time but was more relaxing and interesting. For a job that takes me 4 hours its normal that I use the same in the traffic. O'happy day, O'happy dayay

As the pics don't show in the thread, editing

Thank you very much for the advice, if I want to commit suicide, I will consider it. Big Smile

Not much fun cycling in any city, but I used to enjoy Bankok before the police insisted on "rules" :-<

Fantastic and very interesting. Thank you Soren.

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.
