Someone wrote that it will have 'usb recording' for instant recording/pausing. At least that's a progress.
Who needs to 'tape' TV programmes nowadays! You can watch a lot of stuff on the sites of the broadcasters - if you don't have bandwidth problems . And services like Netflix are improving.
If someone has the time and the skills to rip DVD's/BRP's to an external hard drive/NAS - well, then he should do it. Another question is, if it is legal or not (in some regions it isn't).
Personnally I will continue to buy and play BRDisc's - especially concerts and multichannel audio/Pure Audio disc's.There are lots of movies and concerts that you can't watch online.
And I need a BRP, that can play my CD's/SACD's too, so personally I would want to choose the Bluray player myself.
I don't see a need for B&O to built in a BRP, if some people don't even use it, and others rather want to decide themselves which one to use.

moxxey:Of course it will. It stands to reason it will. No-one is going to spend £10K on a BV11-55 when you can get the new 4K 55" TV for only £6K. And, it correctly follows that no-one is going then spend £7K on a smaller 46", when you can get the 4K 55" for less. Which then drives down the re-sale of the pre-loved models as dealers won't want to give you much money for them. No dealer is going to give you £3K for a BV11-46 as it will be stuck in their showroom - they won't even be able to shift the new BV11's, never mind pre-loved models :) It's wishful thinking that people will 'demand' an expensive old BV11-46 simply as they want a 46".

I know, but it still gives out completely the wrong message to the market, even though, as you know, I also buy Blu-rays!
Of course, I want Blu-ray movies to continue, that's a given, but shipping a TV with a Blu-ray player is a) adds expense as Blu-ray licensing isn't cheap and b) gives the wrong message for their 'future direction'. The emphasis needs to be on the 4K, streaming and so on.
I'll just settle with an Oppo Blu-ray player or ripping them to the NAS drive (my preferred option). Go with the latter, like I do, and there's simply no need for the physical disc.

I know we're talking about BV11-46 resale value. We're not talking anything else. But resale value is affected my dealer trade-ins and how much they'll pay. Dealers will reduce their pre-loved BV11-55/46's and this will affect the private market, too.
There's a huge difference in "knowing I've sold" pre-the new TV and "the true market value" post-new TV, mark my words. No dealer will be keen on purchasing a BV11-46 at the current rates, after the new TV.
Of course, you're welcome to your opinion, but as a BV11-46 owner, I'm now fully aware my BV11-46 will have a far poorer re-sale value after May 8th.

I received an invite yesterday via email for the 8th of May for the showing at Harrods it also shows part of the tv on mine aswell.
it doesn't look bezeless to me, it looks as though it has a thin metal trim which goes around the bezel and from what i can tell the screen itself still looks like a bv7.
still thinking if i should go or not i don't really mind waiting to see pictures as info trickles onto here.

Flappo how are you finding your bv11???
I'm very impressed with it. The picture is excellent as long as you face it full on , side angles it's a bit washed out but that's the edge lighting , not much you can do about it.
Soundwise I've tweaked it and it's really rather good now. Not as much bass as the avant but for a flat screen tv very impressive.
It also looks IMO stunning. Lovely design. Real bno .
Also impressed with all the gizmos built in , really excellent overall and a worthy upgrade. This new tv will have to be something mind blowing to surpass this.

I don't think it's that cheap Flappo :) I think more like £6K in the UK.
However, that's still a 'bargain' for a 55" B&O TV. And, yes, my dealer also said the picture is absolutely stunning, too. He said the audio was on a level of the BV11, so isn't going to be anywhere near BV7/BL7.6 level. But you can add a sub, I guess.
Seems like good advice. Let's wait for the mk2 version and say it was or plan all along

55" to start with, 85" soon after I think and a 65" later? If I remember what my dealer told me! Nothing smaller than 55" though.
Thinking about this some more, I paid £5K for the BL18+Transmitter 1+Playmaker combination only a few weeks ago. If B&O can bring out a 4K 55" for relatively the same price - with wireless transmitter and other components - I'm not entirely sure how they've done it based on the existing price model. Maybe they've taken a huge risk, reduced their profit margin and hope/prey that it sells in larger numbers!
So can anyone post some titbits from these invites then?

I am trying to get excited about the new product(s) but in truth I am not, not at all. I have received two invitations for separate dealers and won't be attending either. I chucked them away last week. I'll just visit the forum here and read what the early adopters say. I can't really ever see myself spending more than a couple of grand on a TV these days, the technology just changes too quickly and I want value for money and products that have longevity like the old days. Its only really the second-hand market I have a look at from time to time these days. I am not prepared to be the one taking the hit anymore, that's just me though.
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

3: 'tailor the SmartTV'. Well, - at least as it is now - there would be nothing left of my SmartTV. I want a Netflix-'source' just like we have it now with the Spotify-'source. Being able to open Netflix drectly - without opening the foolish SmartTV section - would be a real progress. Just making it part the SmartTV function (WebMedia) would be too oldschool.
