Looks like the New tv wont be having Netflix 4K either then... oh dear.....
The Apple TV doesn't either. It hasn't got HDMI 2.0 or the H265 codec (which Netflix use). With Netflix on Apple TV you get less compressed 1080p, rather than true 4K.
Remember that there's still no truly universal 4K standard. But, unlike Sony and other TVs, B&O TVs are usually modular and part-upgradable.
The test will be whether the new Avant ships with HDMI 2.0. My guess is, knowing B&O, it might not. Anyone know? Good question to ask on Thursday. Might be worth hanging on for the MKII, if not.
moxxey: Millemissen: It must be something else? There was a discussion about this a couple of weeks ago and a couple of people indicated ithe MKIV was a very minor refresh (so minor, I can't remember the changes, they were that unimportant!).

Thanks Moxxey - probably so minor, that I did not notice it.
On the other hand - why not use the same panel for the BV11 as for the BV Avant?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
DoubleU: .... On the other hand, we all want a remote with a limited number of buttons. Plain and simple, at least I do. And using 3rd-party devices, PUK-controlled isn’t the worst thing. It was always a unique selling point, and it still is.

That is exactly why I wan't the Netflix app to be a 'source' on the BV (just like Spotify is). With 'Netflix' in the 'List' it would be very easy to start the application. If you use it often, just put it on the first place in the 'List' or even assign it to one of the 'hardbuttons'.
Not having to use a 3rd party-device is what I call 'plain and simple'!
But...personally I surely can live with a PUC-controlled external device - no one but B&O allows such comfort

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
I was under the assumption that hdmi 2.0 is the only way to get 4k content to this tv...
Millemissen: On the other hand - why not use the same panel for the BV11 as for the BV Avant?
My dealer claims that will happen (he has a BV11-55 pre-loved in stock and I considered moving up from my BV11-46, a few weeks ago, he advised to hold on making that decision), but then dealers are now a little confused about the future of the BV11, prices and how they'll shift current BV11-55 models after the launch of the Avant, so who knows?
Ironically (no use of inverted commas there), the BV11-55 might use the same panel without us knowing. They can't advertise it as 4K though, as the Avant will have an updated chassis, new GPU processing and, of course, HDMI 2.0. The BV11-55 would need all of these to claim 4K.
ie. you can't just plonk a 4K panel in an old chassis and say it's "4K".
Bv7Mk3:Well I have a number if questions for the night! And hope to see/get a copy of the spec sheet for the new tv that should answer everything! And hope it's more pos then negative?
You probably should not expect too much 'knowledge' from the dealers - many of them haven't even had the introduction on the BV Avant yet.
Maybe some one is lucky, and could tell us all afterwards.

Agreed.
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

The US meeting was last week.
The dealer I've spoken with is VERY excited and indicated he'd be purchasing
and Avant as soon as one was available for him.
I think the specs will be surprising to most. Especially on the sound front.
So much excitement it seems! What is going on! B&O... really? Are we all going to have the surprise of our lives this week? If the TV is good, the specs are good and the price is good... I am in! Along with a whole load of new speakers and everything else that goes with a full mind blowing system! Could this be the defining moment I have been waiting for?
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)

Interesting teaser there Michael! It's the top half of the remote I am more keen to see but I am happy to wait until the big day. I like to be surprised. My hope is that it will be backlit for operation in the dark. This is the only thing missing on the current Beo 4 in my opinion. Otherwise a great remote.
I have always liked the design of the Beo 5/6 remote too, just a shame they didn't think through the programming a bit more creatively. Rather than dealers doing it for example, why not make the remote and all other products wireless? In this way the remote can automatically identify, configure and tailor itself to a customer's installation. The customer could then associate products to locations by way of drag and drop, as well as make any other changes such as icon placement should they wish. Just a thought.
Simon.
A bit flatter than the Beo4 - more like the BeoLink 1000.
And it seems to have an 'ON-button'.

Remember that Lee (9Lee) has been invited to the official launch, so can ask all the technical questions we desire. He's going to write a report, too.
Forgot to say the Avant isn't edge-to-edge, it has the usual black border around the panel. To be fair, you can see the black border in the above photo.
BeoBoy68:The New BeoRemote ONE
yeah right
like Beolink Wireless ONE
I have been burnt before by such labelling

Yes
or at least I hope so - as I have been waiting too
and those are good points you make about the usefulness of a wireless smart configuring remote
Great picture Michael but the remote looks different than the BeorRemote ONE I had in my hand Saturday. On your picture it looks that the top of the remote has different material or at least a matt finish, it also seems to be wider
The one i saw at least looks like a slimmed down shiny version of the Beo4 made of -what I would see as- the material the BL12's are made of.
The screen was a bit bigger, bit not much and by selecting the source a scroll menu appeared. Via the center button to be scrolled. I.e. press <TV> and then select HDMI, AppleTV, and so on depending on what is connected to your TV and how you've named it.
The buttons are all grouped together, meaning no aluminium between them. The screen is lit and the buttons maybe are backlit (I didn't noticed actually). It is a nice remote but also 'just' a logical evolvement after Beo4. It looks quite identical. Not as different as BEO5/6 but likely that will be exactly the strength of the product. It will cost as much as a Beo4 and the remote is indeed called BeoRemote ONE.
Who knows, maybe dealers (or you Michael ) are just teasing their customers with something that will not be the actual product.
the screen is smaller then beo4 and it´s OLED

Well, like the poster said above, the photo is direct from the B&O Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/bangolufsen
Looks great to me. I only want an evolution of the Beo4, with more modern navigation and finish.
It looks great to me also. I will at least order the new remote as soon as possible.

That means that there are less 'hard-buttons' on it.
Do we just need the 'ON' button and then have to scroll to whatever we want to activate?
Or are there at least some 'hard-buttons' for easy accessing of our prefered sources.
I hope so! Otherweise there might be a lot of scrolling to be done - and no 'blind-controlling' with the remote resting on the table.
I wonder if Beolink Gateway will play a role with some of the new products coming out.
We still need to hear more details from B&O about this, it should be out during Spring time.
It surely plays a role...but only for those who want/need a system including Home Automation.

Noo dont write this here :( It would be better to see at the introduction! :)
A backlight would be a godsend !!
Would it work with other tv's too and connected gear ?

I would disagree with you on that!
But still it is no reason to keep the (B&O) shops closed
A shop in France has invited me on the 15th of May... might be a bit late!
