Snart... Is the danish word for soon, - if ever...

Maybe it will arrive (or at least be launched) before Tue stops...

...what was done... ?

Would that be quadrupling the turnover he promised ?

Would that be outsourcing to China?

Would that be terminating most manufacturing jobs in Denmark?

Would that be reducing the product portfolio for the AV division by two thirds ?

Would that be selling ICE Power at  a loss for B&O?

Would that be selling Automotive to cover your losses?

Would that be initiating a takeover by the dubious Sparkle group?

...In Struer, the hometown of B&O, he is known as Mr. "I promise,- soon"!

True ,- soon to be! Wink

Before BEOVOX141 runs hot - I was talking about the new tv, that surely was conceived in the time, when Tue was the CEO.

Maybe a comment like the above should deserve a seperate thread, called: These are the reasons why I hate Tue Mantoni'!

I just thought that your comment might be better of in a different thread...

Has anyone heard anymore updates on the new Beovision updates / refreshes?  This news has seemed to go pretty quiet for the last few weeks and we should be near the time of their rumoured announcements.

My dealer has told me that he will have much more information on the new TVs the end of this month.

I just noticed that the Avant 55/75/85 already have bluetooth installed but not enabled in software. This is the chip used in the Avant-series today: https://fccid.io/document.php?id=2619602.

It is also used for example in the Moment and other audio devices.

This means that we might be able to use a bluetooth enabled remote with this generation of units as well (if B&O would allow us).

Good find!

I don't see why they shouldn't?

They would certainly sell 'a couple' of the new remote-versions to existing Avant owners.

Would be interesting to know, if all Avant have that chip - or if they were added in later series.

Thanks. Most certainly all Avants but only never beovision 11's probably (since the early ones was not fitted with wisa). I also noticed an icepower logo on the test label although it is not mentioned on the production Avants. Weird. But I take this as a guarantee that it is in fact icepower-powered as well Big Smile

And perhaps transmit audio to a pair of H8s ?

Or perhaps receive audio from a source ? eg an iDevice ?

Considering the AVANT does have WISA, - the B&O  of Yesteryear would of course have released  a cool set of headphones that would work with WISA, to truly exploit the possibilities of the "Immaculate Wireless Sound" .... That would have been ...Like no one else Smile

Oh for goodness sake Paul.

Ditto.

spending thousands on our TVs is an indulgence. Some people need 4/4s and they may well be quite well educated. I stopped buying Audis when they brought out the Q7 and the salesman warned me things were changing as I collected my third new A3 S-line....

I bought a 4x4 because i took 5 months off work and travelled around Australia.  Most people dont take theirs off road and i did.  That's why i bought that.  if i had a little car it wouldn't have made it or be able to tread water  or some of the rough terrain i had to endure. Now after 2 years I will probably sell it because its big for the city, but for all the country driving i do and the hauling of stuff between the city and the country - they make sense. And it has averaged 7.4L / 100 over the 45,000 km i have done and only 1 set of tyres.  It actually makes sense.

exhibition in Berlin. So we can not expect there is a damn thing until after the IFA exhibition. Sad

I hear that there will be at least a redesign of the back of the Avant MKII, which will require a redesigned stand too.

Do you think the Avant MKII will definitely feature HDR?  4K YouTube and Netflix built in?  Do you think it's possible that B&O will not bring the Avant up to current standards and release it with no HDR or other improvements and just a new android operating system?

This is what I've heard:

"AVANT MKII in June, with panel that support HDR and Deep Color. Android powered. Bluetooth for remote.Optional Netflix button on remote"

The Netflix button may imply that there will be an inbuilt app.

Would the Avant require an actual different and new display panel to support HDR or would it be other internal processors?  I ask as my dealer suggests the Avant MKII will still have the same screen as the MKI.

Beovision Avant 55 , Beolab 8000 , Beolab 6000 , Apple TV 3, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Sky HD, Mac Pro, iPad Air, MacBook Air

HDR and increased color gamut require a new panel. It's not just processing.

No streaming companies will allow you to "record" due to the rights they have on the content.

I think Michael meant a button for recording tv since there is no button for that today. I find a dedicated Netflix button utterly ridiculous. Netflix is one of many streaming services I use. If anyone needs a "Netflix" button they should just use one of the smart dot-buttons.

I wonder if manufacturers get any sort of incentive from companies such as Netflix to include a dedicated button. It all helps push their services I guess.

Hi All

The Bang & Olufsen product announcement at IFA seems to be for the new V1 TV.

Not Beovision 14, or at least not only BV14.

The press invite says "To Broaden Your Horizon" and the V1-replacement is rumoured (in this thread) to be named "Beovision Horizon"

  /Lars

Btw. You can see the invite as a part of this B&O rumour recap in Danish (or Bing translation to English)

Hello all!

I have heard from a reliable source that the next BeoVision will be made of wood on the back and sides.

Just thought I'd share. Pretty exciting!

Unfortunately for wood lovers, no. Just the fret part.

No wood at all on the black Horizon and the BV14 is identical to a BV11 (but thicker due to bluetooth module).

Shouldn't be thicker because if Bluetooth since it still has it, and a Bluetooth module is so small they could a lot of them inside the case already.
