Interesting that you should mention 18s and house extension.. I thought about a pair of 18s in our dining room when our refurbishment is finally finished sometime this summer.. the new more contemporary roof went on last week.. but never mind bricks and mortar, more importantly I’ve been busy stocking up on additional B&O ready for installation - so far it’s amounted to a set of Beolab 5s to compliment my Beolab 3 rear speakers, a BV11-55, a Beogram 5500 (to hook up with my Beocenter 2), 2 x Beosound 35s, an M3 for the en-suite bathroom and a variety of Beoplay products such as an A9 for the garage wall, 3 x S3, 3 x Beolit 12, 2 x A2, a P2 and a set of H8 earphones. It’s either some 18s on the dining room wall or a duo of Beosound 1 & 2; the 2 on the sideboard and the 1 on the kitchen island... hmm.. choices choices.
New: Beovision Harmony, Beolab 50's, Beolab 28's, Beolab 18's, Beolab 17's, Beosound Stage & LG, Beosound 2, Beoplay M3, Beoplay A1, Beoplay Portal, Beoplay H4 gen 2, Beoplay E8 3.0

Nice collection elephant - ignore my wife’s comments about penguins.. I actually rather like them!
That the speaker on Eclipse SoundCenter is broader than the panel, Mrs. Pan does not like it.Of course, it should also be possible to choose the BeoVision Eclipse version FP.

Agree, the eclipse wood panel will look awesome in your placement.. 18s with identical wooden lamellas in due course then I presume Fidse?
A while yet for your extension then. Meanwhile, stack the wood for the brændeovn neatly underneath the Eclipse in some kind of sleek, low wood store case/cupboard, then you can move the protective metal rail for the wood burner further to the right, then slide the eclipse slightly to the right and voila’ - space for wall mounted 18s on either side :-)
Watch that wooden surface with the Homepod.... apparently it leaves marks on wood after a few minutes of play.

Not sure, but maybe because of the woofer "bumping", and the material the base is made of?

Fidse:But why would anyone on here, buy a homepod? It’s priced the same as an m5.
Hmm.... maybe a question for elephant?

Duels:Lovely room and a great pic. Yes to a bL19 in that spot! Please post a pic when you have your new avant/eclipse. Personally think the eclipse screen may be a bit high to see over the fire place.

Wow that looks fabulous Beotex. The BL18s also match your floor and ceiling beams extremely well!
+1 looks fantastic - what a great space!
Brian -
Just noticed the Corona chair in your logo. You are to be complimented on your taste sir!
One of our favourite pieces - we have them in white with the foot-stool in our London place.
Belgian designer wasn't it - can't remember the name?
Alan
Hi Alan,
Thank you kindly. It’s a danish designer - Paul Volther. I am Danish and my wife is Dutch but we live in the UK and both have a strong connection to Scandinavia so the majority of our interior design is Danish; Volther, Arne Jacobsen (the egg and swan chair, AJ lamps), Hans Wegner (ox chair, papa bear chair, Y chair) Georg Jensen, Kay Bojesen and of course B&O :-)
We are in the middle of remodelling our house, as you may have read on my post, and even the windows, doors, kitchen, bathrooms and the wood burner was imported from Denmark - you could say a very Danish house in the middle of the Essex countryside.
Well spotted BTW - you clearly are a man of taste ;-)
elephant:Looks good BeoTex I saw your list of kit on the North America question - that was a big step forward - I wish you many years of enjoyment. Let us know how you go on integrating the older kit. I am intrigued that the left hand bl18 appears more distant from the centre line of the BV ...does the BV adjust the left and right channel volumes accordingly ? BeoNut since '75

Great setup and great environment.... but this brings up a general question... if you have a home theater setup, do people really not mind having L and R speakers not equidistant from the center channel?
This seems to be a recurring theme for several posts on this thread, which would imply that one speaker is always slightly louder than the other. I guess it doesn't matter if you're always sitting in the same place, but the symmetry would always bug me... not just visually, but audibly as well.

beotex:My OCD doesn’t like the uneven distances, but the sound is much fuller with separation. I tried putting them next to the fireplace and it lacked depth for a large room. Luckily you can adjust speaker differences and output levels to even out things out. I’ve got rear speakers in the ceiling as well, so that helps, too.
Aussie Michael: Mine are uneven too but the B&O set up compensates for this when you allow the speaker distances If you feel that the speakers are louder than the other, then you can change the dB accordingly.

There is more to it....

There is a tv - and there is a BV
I admit, I skimmed the article, but it seemed to be more about correcting the delay of the further speaker in order to achieve the desired phantom central image. However, that doesn't really also address the need for the further speaker to be somewhat louder based on level calibration.
On that thought, my L and R speakers are facing directly forward (looks more aesthetic to me), but should I really be pointing them at the central listening position? I notice people do both ways in the pictures posted.
Anyway, that's the last of my thought, since this might be a topic for a different thread.
Let's get back to more pics!

Fidse:Looks great Beotex, very stylish! Even though i never understood the whole tv-over-fireplace-thing, don’t you hurt your neck? But that leads me to a more serious question; what kind of “oven” is that? I’ve never seen those “balls?” before. Best regards
Ah yes - the B&O mirror - I used to have one of these - they gave excellent reflected sound.
Additionally I noticed a picture of a P30 (45?) has been stuck on said mirror - Quelle coïncidence! ;-)
