very nice iceman .....

So that's where we have the 0001 of the white Beosound 9000s... Impressive collection - you have it all -  but IMHO you  should invest in a bigger apartment / house, it felt a little bit cluttered ;)

How is the Olive One working out for you?

My B&O products: Beosound 9000, Beosound 2300, Beosound Century, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 4000 x2, Beolab 3500, Beolab 2000, Beolab 10, Beolink Active x2, Beotime, Beo5 x2, Beo4, A9 keyring x2, LC2 dimmer x6 and growing....

Iceman! I'm gobsmacked by your impressive collection you're quite lucky. I"m curious how you have your speakers set up for the living room. I'm asking especially because your Lab5's (usually the front L & R) are set up seemingly as rears. When you're watching on that BV7 are you using the 5s at all?

Thanks for your time and for sharing!

I finally did it- moved from non B&O AVR to a Beosystem 3 MKI.

Got a good deal from a B&O dealer (second life) for BV 4-50, BL 7-2 with table stand, BS3, Beo 4.
Sold the BV 4-50 on since the Pioneer Screen is much better (and FullHD).

The heart of the System:

As you can see a lot of cables.

Using a Lintronic TT455-238 to turn the Pioneer on and off when using DTV / DVD (which is WD Live TV HD).

The Ouverture is just used as audio master (Radio only). No glass doors.

The overall result is:

The Loewe Sub might be a temporary solution, not sure about this one yet.

Back now Beolab 4000 on the vertical brackets:

If was nice to hear from the Family that the set-up is much nicer than before as you don't see any devices anymore.

And back to our favorite remote:

Have a nice week-end!

Yes Hiort it's my good ol' Glo-ball from Jasper Morrison.

Easy for the LC2 : you unscrew the original dimmer, fix the wires on the LC2 instead and voilร .

The LC2 replaces the original rectangular black dimmer.

What do you mean by HD Ready as opposed to full HD? Curious as that description can mean different things.

FWIW, I still have my original non-HD Panasonic, 480p EDTV, and my late mother's 720p Panasonic, both plasmas. To my eyes the 480p set still looks great. If you sit far enough away, that is not right on top of it, it looks better as the contrast and black levels are better, which is why I chose it over a 720p set in the first place. It almost rivals my newer VT series 1080p Panasonic plasma but not quite the black levels, though considering the age it comes closer than you'd think, and the VT is the best television I've ever seen, with perhaps the exception of the BV12 which has the same panel but B&O video processing.

Sorry, you are right. I was referring to the panel resolution.

And black is black on the Kuros...not dark grey Smile

It was a D8 panel (the BV 4), for sure a VT50 will be great, too.

I think the VT series is the first Panasonic panel to fully match the black level performance of the Kuros. If I recall, the previous Panasonic panel was only 0.5 IRE different than the Kuro, measurable but undetectable by eye. I've never seen the next years ZT panel, which was supposed to be slightly better than the VT. There was a very short window between the arrival of the ZT and when Panasonic dropped plasmas altogether sadly.

I'm happy with the VT, it's a 65 inch version. Blade Runner looks awesome on it!

The ISF lists things that matter most to a picture quality for a panel, and resolution is down the line after contrast/black level and color purity. I can agree with that after having lived with my 480p set and still finding it to have a great picture. Nothing will spoil an image like gray blacks, washed out colors. No matter how many pixels there are. I can't wait for the hype surrounding low end 4K sets with execrable black levels.

I can see upgrading in your case, even though the early Beovisions looked pretty darned good. I think B&O used better video processing and better anti reflective screens over the panel.

In particular , does the cable from the stand route under your carpet?

Are you not intending to rotate your Avant in which case the cable can be tight and not require spare length?

@Simonbeo

Yes they installers routed the cable under the carpet, in my house there's a subfloor which doesnt go to the edges and allows some cabled to be easily routed.  However there are many more than originally intended and as such the edge is slightly proud now.  New flooring is needed anyone, so will be changed when this happens.  It doesnt look half bad though!

The installation team were fantastic, to avoid having extension cables or the likes, for each unit, they created custom cables in a colour which was best suited to hide them.  They left all the original cables for me, but having this bespoke service is something i didn't expect.

The cable to the avant is attached to a black metal upright, which is part of the stand unit.  It keep the cable nice and tight in the upright position, there is much slack at the top though, to allow full range of movement.  Pictures below.

Hi MM,

Thank you very much!

Unlike you guys, which have many years experiance of quality video/audio, i just moved from a Samsung 65" 4k and a Bose sound bar/sub, so quite a difference really.  I know what good looks like though and can honestly say, the TV is superb, the best i've ever seen.  Definitely better than the Samsung 4k, even just the speakers in the TV blow the Bose system away!

The Beolab 19 is quite an amazing piece of kit, the sound it can produce is incredible, litterally scaring you to death with movies, the most odd thing though, if you place your hand on the top of it, there is no vibration, the speakers are bouncing around, but the unit is still.  This really makes for a quality sound.  If anything i'm going to turn it up a bit more today, as when the vibrations are removed, i think it can easily produce more and will sound better for it.

The Beolab 18's were my second choice, i really wanted the 20's, but as i've two cats and the 20's definitely looking similar to scratch posts, this just wouldn't be practicaly for me, nor am i willing to take the risk at c.£7000 a pair.  The 18's are powerfull and warm, crisp when they need to be, with the most amazing sounding voice reproduction.  I'm incredibly grad i went for 18's front and back, as i think this provides some balance to the system, with equally capable rears.  Playing music, all four are runnin as stereo, front left/right, along with the sub.  This gives a real immersive feeling.

I couldn't be more happy, a year of saving money well spent!

Anyone unsure about the TV or speakers must go and play with them, you wont be disapointed.  I can't help but feel though that the TV is almost Apple styled.  Its got that Apple clean look and feel to it, which i love!

Davidking your description alongside the pictures are well appreicated. You have the beolab18s in the best colour in my opinion, although I'm a bit partial to the White ones too.

the installation looks really professional and clean. I recently had a demo with the 18s and they really did blow my mind!! So crisp and clear and surprising bass from them to.

the beolab 20s is also my dream speaker as i think they look and sound incredible especially for the size.

your audiovisual experience must truly be a pleasure to listen and look at.
