Thanks Michael.

You're right, the colour scheme is fab.I'm seriously thinking an a8 or Beolit 15 would look exceptional in these colours.

And I've got to say the more I play with it the more I love the sound. It's a great toy that will travel with me.

The best thing apart from being so light is that it is sooooo quick to connect with the BT.  i just love it.

Loving all these posts and seeing how people live with their B&O, vintage and new. I've been dabbling with B&O for years but am only just now taking my real first plunge with a BV11 55. The worst part is having to wait until July for my house to be built and to have it installed, putting my patience to the test! Once it is in I'll join all of you and share my own little setup.

Ok I see it now, yes Pattaya United is the local football team, hope that's not their centre forward would explain why they are doing so poorly

where the shirt came from I wouldn't know, once saw the Ferrari logo on a vehicle but I just knew it wasn't for real due to the fact it was on a large crane

Interestingly last night i was looking at random B&O Facebook pages around the world cos clearly i have no life lol and prior to seeing this thread i did come across Pattaya United and they are sponsored by the B&O Thailand.

Pattaya United also have their own webpage - a mix between some Thai and some Euro guys - i love that shirt though!

Another great FB site is for  Bang & Olufsen Tübingen they have heaps of good install photos!

Finally ready to flash my setup. Long story short, I took over 6 BL8000s, 2 BL4000s and a BS9000 as part of the deal when we bought a house a year ago. Previous owners were more than twice our age, and the setup wasn't right for us at all, with speakers scattered all over the house at places we would never listen to music, and a surround setup in a place with room for only 2 persons with a BeoVision they brought with them.

During the following months I bought a second-hand BL10 which is truly amazing, my first brand new BL, the BL19, a lot of accessories like wall stands, cables, Playmaker, Transmitter1, Receivers etc. and some non-B&O stuff to make it all work without a BeoVision. I also built some walls etc. to hide all cables and equipment.

Main surround setup "downstairs": BL8000s on wall stands as front speakers, an amazing BL10 as center, a brand new BL19 as sub and BL8000s on floor stands as surround. 7.1/HDMI Preamp from Emotiva along with Danish DIN-to-RCA&Trigger cables and a Transmitter 1 for the sub and the surround speakers (with receivers) makes for great stereo and surround sound from the BS9000 (SPDIF to preamp), AppleTV/Spotify etc. (TOSLINK to preamp) or Blu-Ray (HDMI to Preamp).

When playing via the AppleTV (note that the Preamp is used as DAC with optical input from AppleTV), the projector displays album art and track info next to the BS9000. In my taste, this setup is close to perfection - it's like the showroom look I dreamt of but never thought would be realistic. In my taste, that is :-) And note that this is not the living room, it's kindof a movie room downstairs - what we call "Kjellerstue" in Norway. I built the grey wall 40cm from the original wall to hide all cables, and I have a "techincal room" in those 40cm where I have access to all equipment. I have to go in there to change Blu-Ray, but that's fine.

A motorized 120" screen gives a 3m wide picture to the 5.1 surround, which is great for blu-rays and actually also Netflix (with 5.1). Though i may love the BL19 the most in total, I have to say that the BL10 as center speaker truly makes the sound in this setup.

Stereo setup "upstairs": This is only for music, as we have a TV and a Pioneer 5.1 setup from my younger days (until 1 year ago) in the other end of the living room. The final 2 BL8000s connected to a Playmaker gives quite good sound in the seating group on the picture and also to the dinner table to the left of the camera.

Mini-Gym: This "part of the hallway" was the place where the previous owners of the house kept their BeoVision +4 BL8000s with room for only two persons in a small sofa. I completed my "mini-gym" project last week (ok, a few details missing), and have connected the two BL4000s to a Samsung curved TV via an Emotiva DAC and TOSLINK. The sound is impressive compared to when I used RCA only, two different worlds.

We will soon complete a bathroom project, so I'll post a couple of pictures here when it's ready - I just have to wait for the new Essence to be released and arrive first.. Sad

Great setup! Have you tried a different angle for the 4000s  now it seems like the sound may go over your head - I would suggest pointing them slightly downwards,

I tried 4-5 different angels for the 4000s, but I`m not sure this is the best. However, the impression from the picture isn`t entirely correct because of the wide angel lens used to catch the width of the room, the speakers actually point slightly downwards and the distance to the "sweet spot" is a little longer than it appears. I`ll try to change the angel a little more when I have time. :-)

The preamp is an UMC-200 7.1 channel AV Pre/Pro which I read some fantastic reviews of before I ordered it. In my experience it works great with B&O, especially because you can connect and process several HDMI and digital inputs, connect both a TV and a projector and show the menu "overlay" on the screen and do either an automatic calibration /room correction with the included microphone or really advanced with eleven user programmable fully parametric equalizers on each channel, config. of crossover points and slopes, bi-amp of main front channels etc. so you can use computer software for room correction and calibration. (Ok, probably too much info - I`m not applying for a job as sales rep in Emotiva)

The DAC is an XDA2 Gen2 which recently arrived, so I haven`t used it a lot - but I ordered it after great experience with the UMC-200, and first impression is very good.

Nice thread and nice gear, but it seems to have been devoted to new equipment for some time. Where is the vintage stuff we all love here?

40cm? You are really persistent in your Mini-Gym-Room. Many of us would need 80-100cm displacement of this second wall to come in Big Smile

By the way really nice setup. Congratulations for the project!

Well, maybe I don`t know what I`m talking about - but there are probably quite a few years between new and vintage, and my impression is that most of the gear in this thread is somewhere between those extremes.

For example, in the latest post - which is mine - most of the gear was in production from the early 90s, including the 6 BL8000s that was in production from 1992. That`s 23 years ago now, and I was 9. Not vintage, but definitely not new. Just ask the previous owner of the speakers, who bought them second-hand. ;-)

The subwoofer is brand new, and I must say that I love how those classic 8000s fit perfectly with the brand new BL19 - that`s one of the things I really like about B&O.

Haha, now I had to measure it again - it`s really 49cm, my mistake. And as the wall is "open" from the backside (to avoid the three-walls-audio-problem), I get 7cm more most of the places - while the rack is placed next to a window, so I get even more space there. It´s really more than enough, actually, even for my 95kg. :-)
