Seanie_230: Hello I have the same issue with my Global Cache device for my curtains it ends up in scenes and not shades which is a shame becuase on the BLGW its seen as a device not a shade. I will ask the question if it would be possible to designate a device as a type. I will also mention the feedback button as I am missing this also. Sean
Hello
I have the same issue with my Global Cache device for my curtains it ends up in scenes and not shades which is a shame becuase on the BLGW its seen as a device not a shade.
I will ask the question if it would be possible to designate a device as a type.
I will also mention the feedback button as I am missing this also.

I've been interested in the possibilities of the Global Cache devices. How difficult was it to set up your Global Cache device?

Seanie_230:Hay Jeff global Cache was easy I bought the 3x relay device. Using the driver already on the BLGW I added iP and port and created some buttons that open or close the relay.

It's just that simple? No need to program the relay through your computer? What are some of the uses you could see with the various Global Cache devices? I suspect that they could be used for controlling a fireplace with the contact closure. It also looks like one could use the BLGW to send an IR signal to control third party devices.
Seanie_230:Hay I use mine to trigger curtains. They could be used for anything with contact closure for the relay one anyway They do lots of different ones the IR looks interesting but not sure how that works. No need to use the computer to setup the relay one at least BLGW - Rekindling the love of ML
Hi All,
Just attempted to update the firmware tonight and rather nervous about this as last time wasn't very successful, looks like another painful upgrade ahead. First attempt to download the new firmware stopped as 53% and I lost communication with the Gateway, currently its downloading 124% (good effort) of the firmware and looks like it's going to stall again.
Sometimes I wish better testing is completed before software is released.
Hi again,
After further perseverance the firmware finished its installation at 150%. But everything went really smoothly once it downloaded everything. All configuration settings were carried across into the new firmware was previously I've had the network IP address reset and macros which would not trigger so far very happy.
The new BeoLink2 app is starting to grow on me, I like the interface and had a little bit of a clean up of the programming to make things look cleaner on the interface but there does seem to be some problems controlling PUC sources (maybe still work in progress) so far I have noted the following items:
1. When using Virgin Tivo the stop button does pause live TV but the Play button changes source, pressing stop again resumes live TV
2. I have Plex Media Player on a Mac Mini and have lost the ability to navigate around the interface because the Colours and Arrows screen is not displayed (or I couldn't find it)
3. Like reported earlier, I use custom strings to drive Rako lighting and Somfy blinds using buttons under Scenes. It would be a great enhancement to specify where these buttons could go, i.e. Lights and Shades.
Also noticed that there is the ability to define strings, I haven't played with that be excited that it may be able to display the status of items in the Beolink2 application. Something to try at the weekend.

After installing the new BLGW sw, the old Blink app (so not version 2) gives issues. Everything works well, only when I want to go to the "homecontrol part", the app stops and goes back to the homescreen of my iOS device. Tried it on a iPad mini 2 and on a iPhone 7, both gives these problem. The Beolink2 app does work proper. Only missing the possibility to make timer tasks.
When I go to settings in the Beolink2 app, I can only choose deezer log in, not Tunein log in. When I use Tunein as source, the radios starts and I can go to different favoite stations, but not the possibility to see the logo's. Also not possible to search stations. I got the message in the radio search screen that I first have to go to Tunein and add some favorites, which I actually already did. Anybody knows?
I'm curious to give Deezer a try. However, I have all ML and not NL. Does anyone know if one can push Deezer to a connected Airplay device, for example an Airport Express connected to a B&O ML audio master?
beolink2 app: no status update of the buttons with status led, no long press or hold funktion of the button
beolink1 app: no update of the hue light slider. (this is a error of the firmeware update of the blgw. i tested now with a old version of the beolink1 app version before the app-update of the beolink1 app this week - no function.)
Does anyone know how to insert spaces between lines of Scenes when viewed on the app so that we can group Scenes together in a logical and visual way? I know that we can move the order of Scenes in the programming interface. However, there is no option to create blank buttons for insertion between groups of Scenes like there was back in the days of the MLGW programming interface.
Seanie_230:So has anyone explored writing their own drivers as yet?
here the link to the driver development guide on the beointegration webpage. not so easy as expected
Hello,
short update:
I had to send in my BLGW and even the B&O technician was not able to fix the firmware issue.
To keep a long story short, I got a new mainboard with a preinstalled firmware 1.5 and it is up and running...
I hope it will survive the next firmware update ;-)
Best regards
