Help! - No sound from Beolab 19 playing from Moment

Hi Mbolo, my 18 speakers are configured using left channel only. I still have my 19 connected using cable but it act more like a normal speaker instead of a sub I feel. Can confirm the background noise.

Thanks for the feedback Norwin. I suggest you take the 19 out of the loop for now as the 18 can produce decent bass and you'll get your right channel back.

Thanks for confirming the background noise, the more consistency we find in symptoms, the easier it will be for B&O to identify the root cause as it seems they are lacking enough evidences.

Actually, I had the feeling that something had happened to the sound quality as well when I first started having problems with the 19. But I wasn't sure and I suppose I didn't trust my own ears, so I focused on the more obvious part of the problem: the connection issues. It's difficult to be 100% sure when you don't have anything to compare back and forth with, but I'm more and more certain that my 19 doesn't sound as good now as it used to do. It sounds more like just another speaker than a sub, like Norwin, I think, put it. I might be wrong, but I don't think I had the LP filter turned on earlier, and the bass has always been one of the things I have appreciated the most in my setup: very low, very tight and controlled. But if I leave the LP filter off now I get all sorts of vocal and midrange sounds from the 19. I've turned the LP filter on for the time being, but I still can't shake the feeling that my subwoofer now sounds like an avalance, when it used to sound like an instrument.

Also, right out of nothing, my wife today commented that there was now background noise coming from the 18s. I was a bit surpised, because she normally has little interest in anything that has to do with sound quality.

I updated my BL 18 and 19 with firmware 1.1.4.5309 and guess what? No more sound from the Moment. I switched the Moment off and I'm now back to TR1, hopefully one day my expensive device can be used again.

Edit: sound is coming through .... it took a couple of power off/on and sound quality is as poor as before speakers' update. Moment is switched off until a new code is available

Hi Mbolo, where did you download that firmware? Not that I am going to update now but maybe after your setup works again!

I'm using a Transmitter 1 to do so. Software and instructions can be found in the product support web page.

Fyi - I connected my Moment to the TR1 in order t check if the sound quality was a Wisa story and it is not. Sound is the same disaster when going through the wire and right channel does not produce any sound while being recognized when locating speakers is used.

While B&O is using my Moment to fix the problems, I am using an old Beomaster 4500, and the sound is much better in my Penta's than from the Moment !! Bas and treble are much more clear, and more defined and separated. Maybe I am wrong, but something is different in the sound between the 2, and currently I prefer the BM4500 sound.

I can't wait until they resolve our problems. Checked in with them yesterday, and they are still working very hard to solve this.

I really miss my Moment and Deezer :)

I miss it too, having a device powered off is a pity.

I'm lucky to have kept my TR1, connected SPDIF to my ISP box that has a Deezer app, a radio app and is a DLNA renderer, I can listen the same music, unfortunately without the "all in one" convenience of the Moment and I miss playing LP, the pain of being beta tester :-)

B&O can I have my Moment now if needed too, but yours is surely sufficient to wok on the issue.

Hi guys I am reading your posting solving the issue with the Beo 19 in wireless mode. 

I have they same problem but with my Essence and TR1 with 4 Beo’s 17 plus the Beo 19. I had my system in storage for a couple of months and when I moved into my new house had to update the essence and use the new Beo app’s.

Tried all the mentioned options in this thread. 

But non of you guys did not add anything since Aug, so my question is was your problem solved? And if yes how?
