Fully close the app and restart it BS Moment, BL 18, BL 19, A6, M5, A1, H5
Thanks! I should have figured that one out my self
Still, I like the old layout better, since I had all my devices visible without scrolling that much.
Livingroom: BL3, BL11, BV11-46 Kitchen: Beosound 1 GVA, Beocom 2 Bathroom: M3 Homeoffice: M3, Beocom 2 Library: Beosound Emerge, Beocom 6000 Bedroom: M5, Essence remote Travel: Beoplay E8 2.0, Beoplay EQ, Beoplay Earset
Hi guys
We're on the problem with the tab bar and will have fix out for that today. The workaround as you discovered is to close and re-open.
Regarding the list layout, we will make it adapt to the number of products you have going forward. Please remember you can re-arrange the order in the my products page.
I will write a post today about the beta

Hi Mr Andersson,
I would like to participate in Beta-testing of the B&O app. Is that possible?

mbolo01: I don’t see the point of mentioning the product model name when (1) the image tells you what the product is and (2) not sure a lot of the people change their product name which results in doubling the information in the right frame. I think that the product model name should only replace the user managed name if empty.

Agree. I use the default names and then it looks strange with mentioning product twice. If you bother to name you different rooms it makes more sense.
Thanks for the feedback. I will take your comments on the product name up with our designer. The idea is that the product name only will be there if it is different from the friendly name set by the user.
Sandyb: Yeah on iPad it seems too large, we will take a look at this

Is anyone using an NL/ML converter? And if so do you have volume control?
Tassos:Is anyone using an NL/ML converter? And if so do you have volume control?
I am using a NL / ML converter between my Beosound Moment and Beosystem 3 where my speaker is connected. I can NOT adjust the volume from my B & O app (1.9). If I want to change the volume, I have to do it on Moment or via my Beolink app connected to my Beolinkgateway.? It's not an optimal solution.

Because an image is worth a thousand words, here is my vision for Band & Olufsen App 2.0
diisign.com
Quick description :
Full photo app with nice close ups of parts of the gear used
Top left corner : a "+" button to add the device like in the multiroom tab, or a link symbol if it's already playing something linked
"friendly name" as a title and name of device as a subtitle on the top right
Volume slider for direct access on the lower part. I think maybe the text of what's playing could be considered.
The device vertical slider has been removed, this function is accessed by the "now playing" button on the lower part of the screen, which replaces the multiroom tab.
Feel free to modify/comment! I've got some available time this summer to discuss with B&O app designer ;-)

ça déchire ...
Merci Mbolo01!
@mbee
Certainly worth studying for the app team ;-)
Now that you have removed the Multiroom tap, you also have to consider, which is the leading device in a playback group - especially if you have more groups in the setup. How would these different groups be visible in your ‘version’? As of now it seems that there is one group - Living room and Bedroom - of linked products. What if there are two or even more groups?
Which group of speakers would your new ‘Now Playing’ tab link to, then? Maybe all in one screen?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
@Millemissen :
for the group, I think that there is where a text line just over the volume slider could be useful : it would just give the title of the track/radio currently playing for the main product, and for the linked product “track title - from main_product_name”.
concerning multi groups, as I currently have only 3 products, I don’t know how it is currently managed bon the multi room tab, but as this tab is really simple visually, I don’t think it would be very different from what we have now with my design.
last, concerning the “now playing” I imagine that it could be totally unchanged compared to the current slider : a tap on it would directly display the black tab of the selected product on the main page, and the left/right arrows would help to change product without going back to the main page... in fact I imagined a progressive transition, first modifying the main page on v2, then the “now playing” tab on v2.5 ;-)

elephant:I liked Kiran’s cheeky names ...> BeoCone> BeoSlab
elephant:Thinking of Kiran’s Home once it is completed ... could he have 3 sources running simultaneously ? With various rooms being joined, unjointed, and re-assigned between those sources ?
Nice work!
Was thinking of doing the same but lack the skills!
For the app team :
- How much functionality do we want on the Home Page - as of now, it's just a product selector. My thoughts are similar to yours - there is so much unused space, i think a few things could be added. Adding the current active source is a no brainer to me.
I would also add the "..." three dots, from the now playing screen - so users can chose / change sources from the Home Page.If the Multiroom tab remains - then more than one grouping can be handled by different shading schemes.
Personally, i quite like the new vertical stacking of products on the Home Page - it solves the issue of scaling odd numbers of product boxes.
But like others, the Product images need to be better - i like your photos, though at a minimum, we need better image choices for things like the Moment, Core, Essence, BS4.
Last one - and this relates to how much functionality is added to the Home Page. The Home Page can be improved as described above (by yourself aswell of course). But the Now Playing screen has a black theme, while the Home Page has a white theme - this is disjointed to me. And the product image in the Now Playing screen should be the same as that on the Home Page.
elephant: These discussions have prompted a thought in my head ... I suspect it’s not a problem I will have ... but does NL (and the App) support multiple multi-Room sessions ?

Playing multiroom from two different sources could look like this (in the current app).
From my own setup - plays fine ;-)

I like it as a ‘product selector’ - icon/photos must be much better, though.
I could be persuated to like the ‘three bots’ for accessing the sources directly from there.
The current active source is already there - at the buttom.
’Stacking of products’ may be fine on an iPhone, but not sure it would be on the iPad - too much scrolling to see all of your products.
In my case the Essence is priority....and has the biggest tile ;-)
Yes the themes must be similar on Home and Now Playing screen.
I - definitely - am for the rather black theme ——- or greyish. It should not look candy!

A lot of the iPad users like to hold their device horizontally.
How would ‘vertical stacking’ look there?
(Click the pic)
Yes, the iPad version needs to be amended - i did reflect this back to Thomas. I don't quite know whether the iPad version is actually different from the iPhone, or just applies some scaling.
As for active source, the now playing bar at the bottom only shows what is active on the selected product.
I frequently have numerous products active with different sources - the new product view has enough space now to show what is playing on each product.
I suspect the Multiroom workflow might be best left to a separate tab like now.
But i do think a little source selection functionality can be added to the Home Page - it will speed things up, and 3 dots don't interfere visually much.
The volume slider seems a no brainier - whether per product, or just for the active product in their at the bottom.
Agreed on the rest - hoping enough people have echoed the same comments on product images, that that will improve soon.
Overall though i do use the (single) app a lot more than i did previously with the separate apps previously. And as a consequence, i use my remotes less.
I really do hope the source control functions are added though - the old app gave me control of my cable box, so i'm hoping the Now Playing screen will get this capability.
Completely agree - hence my comment / question about whether the iPad version is different to the iPhone.
The vertical stacking looks good to me on the iPhone, not on the iPad.
The landscape / horizontal use case for the iPad should be given priority in my mind. There is enough horizontal space that the products can be arranged in a matrix etc.
For an odd number of products ( i has 5 for example) i dont like the stretching of one (the 5th in my case) just to fill the screen. Design language wise, it appears odd to me.
Be interested what forum members think of photos for the product images ? Cant quite decide myself, but i guess having the flexibility would be nice.
Millemissen, I think you ignore it, but you must be French! Each time someone embody proposes to improve something, you just think of what may not work! Even when you’re not having this problem (your multi room issue with multiple groups in my design, which nobody knows how it’s displayed on the current app)! Relax, change is not always bad... maybe you’ve seen too much software updates of your B&O products!
comcerning the vertical stack issue on landscape iPad, I just think it should become to rows instead of one, exactly like the way iOS manages the notifications display.

I don’t know what you are aiming at?
in my first post after your ‘version 2 picture’ I wrote:
So?
What else do you want?

Thinking on I tried to imagine how it would look on an iPad and I mentioned that that maybe would not be the right thing there.
These things must be considered from the app team - which in the end is who decide.
Which ‘multiroom issue with multiple groups’ do I have?
I know of none - it works as of now this way in the current app - and it works.
Why relax???
And no, I am not french - bon sang!
Your thoughts are worth concidering for the app team, no doubt.
But usually there is more to it than one picture - and that is what the team is there for.
The app has never been better than now. If they can improve it - with or without your help - I am fine.
@Millemissen : sorry if you felt insulted, but being french myself, I didn't know it was such an insult abroad... It was just that every time somebody proposes something, you find the inconvenient of that thing : typically french!
So, sorry if you thought I was insulting you, no offense intended!
We now have two threads on ‘app-beta-testing’ - which one to use?
This or the one, which recently was started by Mr Andersen?
Please use the other thread for comments and feedback on the 1.9.
Thanks!
